Il Piattoforte — Restaurant in Casole d'Elsa

Okay, so we ordered here, and mind you, the menu has different translations for each dish. We followed both the English and German translation.

We ordered the dishes listed as ‘Sint Jakobsmuschel’ and ‘vegetables with stuffed olives and mozzarella’.

Jakbosmuschel turned out the be pork(!) and the vegetables also included fried meatballs. We don’t eat meat, so this to us was extremely weird and unacceptable.

The waitress was very defensive about it. Pointed at the Italian translations of the dishes in the menu. Well, we don’t speak Italian. I told her it’s outrageous to serve something completely different from the menu, let alone meat for shellfish and vegetables. I also asked her why the dishes weren’t correctly translated, and that she should look into that for future guests.

So this restaurant to me is the absolute top of the top. We were welcomed by an amazing waitress, polite, fun to talk to, lovely. The food was incredibly good and I got to talk to the cook, another sweet and wonderful person. We are vegetarians still the smell of the meat made me wish I would eat it. Aglione, my fav Tuscany meal, was amazing and the ravioli as well. Fresh, tasty, good portions, great options. The price was lower than at most other places we ate at in the area. Siamo venuti in questo ristorante con l'intento di fare un bel pranzo che ci saziasse e soddisfacesse, ma non è stato così, a partire dal servizio lento ed un po' distratto, il quale ha sbagliato la consegna di uno dei dolci rimediando subito dopo, fino ad arrivare al cibo, io credo che debbano un po' rivisitare la situazione, perche per come la vedo io va bene andare a risparmio, ma così è davvero troppo, tagliatelle spacciate al ragù di cinghiale quando il sapore era di un semplice ragù in scatola, per non parlare della cottura che lasciava molto a desiderare, tagliata con rucola e scaglie di parmigiano nella quale la presenza di parmigiano era veramente scarsa a confronto con quella della rucola, usata per compensare la mancanza, sui dolci, poco da dire, classici ma buoni. Arriviamo dunque al conto che considererei piuttosto inadeguato non per quanto si sia mangiato, ma bensì per il rapporto qualità-prezzo, considerato che anche il menù era molto ridotto.
