Ristorante Phò Phu'o'ng — Restaurant in Castel Goffredo

Even though the Vietnamese diaspora didn’t reach much of Italy, there’s still a handful of Vietnamese restaurants here. Decided to give the place a shot. I had the summer rolls first. They seemed fresh, small but for €3, not bad. But…I came for the pho tai nam. After initially sampling the broth (without condiments), I didn’t get that savory, bold beef flavor I was expecting. The owners of the restaurant greeted us with absolute kindness, they spoke English and italian. Welcomed into their place, we ordered of the best Fried pork spring rolls. Then we ordered the pho and we were even more surprised by that. Having this kind of cuisine in the middle of Italy is a blessing and should be recognized by everyone around. Piccolo locale a gestione familiare nel cuore di Castel Goffredo, semplice ma accogliente, sempre pulito e ordinato anche nei bagni. Qui si può gustare la vera cucina del sud-est asiatico: dagli ottimi involtini, sia fritti che freschi avvolti in carta di riso, alla celebre zuppa Pho, fino ai piatti di riso e spaghetti con carne e verdure, da gustare magari con una birra vietnamita. Gli ingredienti sono freschi, le preparazioni artigianali e i dolci fatti in casa davvero deliziosi. La titolare Phuong accoglie con grande gentilezza, spiegando i piatti e dando consigli utili. I prezzi sono onesti e la qualità autentica; l’unico aspetto di cui tener conto è un servizio parecchio lento, tuttavia comprensibile visto che la signora gestisce da sola sia la sala che la cucina.
