La Stella Del Calore — Restaurant in Castel San Lorenzo

This place was great, if you’re used to the southern Italian dining style. Let me start by saying the food was delicious and Pasquale was a super enjoyable host. However, Canadians and Americans not used to the “bring out the food and I’ll tell you the price later”kind of restaurant style, you’ll be jolted. We had a two plates of salumi and cheese, melon, fried peppers and eggplants, bread, panuozzi (street sandwiches) and fries, followed by a mixed grilled meat platter and the freshest simple salad I ever had. We were four adults and three kids, for a total of 95 euros. It was delicious and filling but again, be prepared it may not be menu style and you pay at the end the price he tells you. One star only, for a reason that opening time falsely says open whole day. We arrived tired and hungry to this place at 2pm. Large group of people were finishing their meal. We asked if we can eat (in Italian) , a woman nodded, and after we sat at the table a man run to us shouting that 'no food now, kitchen closed' which was extremely rude, almost aggressive. 23/08/2024 Ci siamo fermati per caso per il pranzo in questa trattoria, l'ospitalità è il top,il cibo anche ,prezzo top,le patatine fritte che accompagnavano i secondi salsiccia e bistecca di vitello tenerissima erano patate e non quelle surgelate,consiglio il baccalà con patate,ma anche lo spezzatino con piselli era buono, non da meno l'antipasto anche esso ottimo con salumi misti, bocconcini e formaggio accompagnati da friggitelli(peperoncini verdi) e ortolana accompagnati da un buon pane casereccio, abbiamo chiesto l'amaro e ci è stata portata tutta la bottiglietta,da dare un voto positivo anche al vino della casa(mi ha ricordato quello di mio nonno) e per concludere il dolce un ottima ricotta e pere (top) sicuramente se ci ritroveremo a passare di qui ci ritorneremo volentieri ,grande ospitalità anche per i nostri amici a quattro zampe ❤️mi dispiace non aver fatto foto ma ci siamo goduti il posto,l'aria fresca ,il buon cibo e il buon...
