La Piccola Osteria — Restaurant in Castelfidardo

As we drove up to the restaurant, we were a little concerned. It was in a sparse warehouse area that looked like it housed a used car dealership. However, we were to be pleasantly surprised by the experience we had. The food was amazing. Everything we ate was an explosion of flavor without being over-done. Simple ingredients, mouth-watering food. The service made it especially good. Despite us not having reservations and not speaking Italian, they were able to find a table for our party of 6. The lovely server offered to translate their daily menu for us and did a great job explaining the dishes. She was able to recommend a couple that we wouldn’t have normally tried, and after we tasted her recommendations, we were very thankful to her. The house wine was a great pairing to our meals.

Excellent small osteria in an industrial area near Ancona. But don't let that put you off as it's worth putting into Google maps. Prices are extremely reasonable and the atmosphere authentic. Ci siamo imbattuti per caso in questa piccola osteria, siamo stati accolti dai gestori molto ospitali, una volta accomodati e subito dopo aver ordinato ci è arrivato una piacevole e fragrante focaccia all'olio calda da gustare nell'attesa. La cena è stata veramente squisita e la qualità decisamente buona. La cosa che più mi ha fatto piacere è stata la convivialità che si è creata anche con altri clienti dopo cena. Dopo aver pagato il conto, siamo comunque rimasti in ottima compagnia ed i padroni di casa ci hanno offerto alcuni cantucci e del vin santo.. Che dire una serata veramente indimenticabile.
