ATTENTION ATTENTION....MASSIVE PORTIONS HERE! 😀 This place was an absolute food joy! Totally a wonderful surprise. We came here with some friends who had been told it was really good and everyone talked about the giant cannoli. We were not sure what to believe but my gosh...it was true. Check the photos! The restaurant is in a beautiful place surrounded by hills. Inside has some nice features but it tends to become a bit hot even in the evening and quite crowded and noisy. I'd suggest to get a table outside if possible. We started with the full starter plate and it was already a beautiful surprise. A massive plate with lots of delicatessen. Absolutely gorgeous. We were 6 adults and 4 children with ages from 8 to 3. We had 2 of these starter plates and we struggle to finish them. Then we picked up different things. I personally tried the busiada baida and it was delicious. But I could have easily shared it with someone else because it was another huge plate. Some other had fish, some other had meat...everyone was really satisfied. And then...well we were all full but we wanted to check this legendary giant cannolo, so we ordered just 1. Super wise choice. It really was a giant. Even though 5 people eat it, we struggle to finish it. Anyway, this is one of those rare places that other than quality you get (a lot) of quantity! So, enjoy, but be careful with your orders! Don't be tempted to exaggerate! I was forgetting. One of us was celiac but she managed to perfectly enjoy some plates opportunity prepared...
Read moreWe were here with friends for dinner after arriving and staying in an agriturismo about 100 m from the restaurant. It was a Sunday evening and the restaurant was full, guests from the neighborhood, a large group at some kind of celebration, even tourists. We had a reserved table. We chose three different first courses, Caponata, Bruscheta siciliana mista and chickpea pancakes. Everything was fresh and tasty. As a second meal we had pizza which was excellent. We had three desserts again, Tiramisu classico, cassatina siciliana and canolla (it was huge because we said we wanted it for 4 people). Finally, homemade Crema di Limoncello. In addition, local red wine. We left full and with wonderful culinary experience. The atmosphere was as good as the food, typical Italian, noisy, cheerful, friendly, the guests and the staff joked with each other. Almost a family atmosphere. The price was very acceptable, even favorable considering the quality. It's a pity that it's only open on Saturday and Sunday, so we didn't have a chance to repeat the...
Read moreThis restaurant can be reached through narrow roads better fit for smaller, nimble vehicles but is well worth it for the vista: it is perched atop hills giving guests a wonderful view of the area.
But wait - there’s more: It’s a seafood and pizza restaurant, with a wide array of dishes. We opted for the mixed fish plate, a combination of fried herrings, smelts and other local fish, as well as some agri dolce. As the menu changes regularly, don’t expect to find the same combination when you visit! We also had busiate con cozze (mussels), all very delectable.
There is a decent list of beverage options, fit for the setting.
Leave some room for dessert, as they offer a 30cm-long cannoli that can be shared - if you’re kind enough!!
They do accept credit cards - a nice feature, considering the restaurant is in...
