Bad experience with the man in charge.
My husband and I are staying at the Villa Curina Resort and today we decided to try the hotel’s restaurant ‘Il convito di Curina’.
My husband was feeling under the wheather so we just wanted to order one main course and go to bed.
When we told who we assume is the person in charge of the restaurant what we wanted to order (one main course per person) he told us we had to order two per person because, and i quote, ‘this is not a fast food, this is a restaurant’, ‘if you don’t like it you can leave’ (mmm hello?)
We were embarrassed since he started being quite rude in front of the whole restaurant. We have luckily been to many restaurants and none has this ridiculous policy. If someone is not feeling well and they want to order one course no one should force him to order two.
In the end I ended up having 2 and my husband one.
Bear in mind this is the only option to have dinner at the hotel so if you are not in the mood for a big dinner you’re not welcome…
The food was good and the waiters friendly and polite, despite for the boss which is a shame.
Very unhappy with this service in general, really annoyed...

Food is ok ….. Service … not so great The maitre d’hôtel is an arrogant person Nobody ask us if our steak and our meal was ok …. Then i ask to talk to the maitre d’hôtel ….. When he show off he arrived with a defensive attitude He told me that the cow they serve here is like that !!!!! ?????? Like the cow was hit by a car ???? Serious ????? I didnt have a chance to explain anything ! He said « i wont chage you ! « and left ….. Thank you … i didnt want to pay Nothing …. I just wanted to find a kind of arrangement …. But is ego was so big that he didnt want to look bad …. Si bad because all other server , hôtel personnel where so Nice ….. The restaurant Il Convito di Curina is located at a 20 minutes drive from Siena. The restaurant is also open for customers who don’t stay at the hotel Villa Curina Resort. The menu gives several very tastefull options, mostly local and from what the season offers. All true and honest food. The wine menu presents besides a great number of Italian wines, also a number of French wines like their champagne of the house.
