Ristorante Pizzeria Il Ponte — Restaurant in Castelnuovo Berardenga

I rarely leave negative reviews anywhere but the service was so bad here that I feel I must share our experience. To start, we just wanted to order a take out pizza and asked how long we would need to wait. The server said it would be a minimum of 1 hour because they were busy. We didn't want to hang around for that long but asked what the timeline would be for dining in and she said approx 30min. We found this odd as we thought take out would be much faster and easier for the kitchen but did not say anything and chose to sit down and be served. After 10min we finally received the menus and requested some waters. From there, another 20min went by and we still had not received any water. We noticed a table of about 10 people were seated next to us at this time and within 2-3 minutes of being seated that table was served several bottles of water. Great food in a warm family restaurant setting. Been there already 4 times in May 2018. The restaurant is newly under the management of the owners of La Piccarda in Ponte Bozzone is a terrific addition to the area. The pizza is great, the pasta wonderful including the Tagliatelle with truffles and porcini, the simmered beef shank is fantastic, and the desserts home-made and especially, the apple strudel/apple pie, is spectacular. I skip the cream and have it with vanilla gelato. This new restaurant has an excellent coffee bar. I suggest, weather permitting, you sit on the outside deck on the far left side: very pleasant. Prenotato per le 21, siamo arrivate e siamo state accolte dal caos e dalle urla di 20 bambini. Il cameriere è stato molto carino e ci ha trovato un tavolo lontano dall’orda degli infanti urlanti. La mise en place è fermamente discutibile ma c’è sempre il caos dei bimbi, chiediamo una semplice pizza ma non c’è l’impasto sufficiente, (siamo in una pizzeria!!!)…. E va bene allora prendiamo un tagliere con gli affettati, dopo 40 minuti ci sono stati serviti, intanto l’orda dei bambini urlanti accompagnati dai genitori incuranti si appropinqua ad uscire, quindi arrivano le pappardelle, buone ma rovinate da tutto ciò che ci circondava. Ma la ciliegina sulla torta è stata al momento del conto quando chiedo due bottigliette di acqua naturale fuori frigo e mi si dice che non ci sono, sono tutte in frigo. Boh mica ho chiesto la luna!!!!

1. ho prenotato per le 21 ed il tavolo non era pronto al nostro arrivo
2. la sua è una pizzeria e non c’era impasto per la pizza sufficiente per noi
3. il cameriere quando chiedo una bottiglia di Chianti mi dice ben 3 volte il costo …. Che fate i conti in tasca ai clienti? Gli ho dovuto dire per 3 volte ok va bene
4. chiedo due bottiglie d’acqua da portar via fuori frigo e non ci sono
5. due stelle è un gran complimento perché le pappardelle al sugo bianco di cinta erano decisamente sipide
