An unassuming restaurant off the beaten track in Castiglione delle Stiviere. Tucked away in a residential area. Very popular with locals & largely unknown by visitors. Suitable for all ages. Known for its excellent pizzas. My brother-in-law is in a wheelchair & the restaurant was well suited to his needs. From the car park there is a slightly steep ramp to enter the building, which wasn't too hard to negotiate. Once inside the restaurant was equipped for his easy access & use.
It's been over 15 years since I've been to Pizzeria La Capanna. We were taken by family to celebrate their anniversary. It hasn't changed much. The staff were attentive & efficient. The food was tasty & plentiful. In the past we've had pizzas but this time we went for the fixed €30 per person menu - of antipasti, tagliatelle al fungi & mixed grilled meats (beef, chicken, pork & salamina) with chips. It also included wine, water & coffee to finish.
The food cooled very quickly sadly. Maybe because the plates were cold. We were unable to finish our final course, as the meal was filling. My sister-in-law felt it also lacked something such as parsley sauce (which she does at home. Giving the food added flavour & makes the meat less dry). The couple we went with were a little disappointed with the meal as it didn't live up to their expectations, based on numerous previous visits. It was also their first meal out in nearly two years, which made it even more disappointing for them.
However they were not put off. They, & hopefully we, will return but choose...
Read moreWe got this place recommended and went there without to much or to say any expectations. We both don't speak any Italian and had difficulties ordering food from the menu.
The staff was super friendly and attentive from the first minute, and didn't hesitate to help us out. My biggest thanks to Elia who was translating all the foods, who went on explaining everything to us. This is the kind of service and friendliness every good restaurant needs!
The Pizza and the pasta were both super deli ious and the price was more then reasonable. Definitely a great place to go to eat locally and experience Italian service and...
No, niente ripasso. Ecco spiegato i tavoli vuoti, complimenti.
