After a long day walking the MVF and in between the town’s Easter festivities, they very kindly prepared an early dinner without meat for us with the fresh ingredients they had available. We had cheese and caponata as a starter and a very tasty pasta with aubergine and tuna, freshly prepared. To top it off, they gifted us two cannoli as take away dessert. Before visiting Sicily I didn't realize that even the most unassuming bar might also be a wonderful small family run restaurant. Bar Gattuso is a great example. Run by a friendly family, Bar Gattuso served us memorable local dishes at a very reasonable price. From antipasti to main courses to desserts and digestifs, they offer it all. Be sure to stop here if you're in (or anywhere near)...

Cena percorrendo la Magna Via Francigena.

È stata una serata in cui a cena ho dovuto dire " basta, grazie!" per il continuo portare in tavola. Cibo ottimo, abbondante...servito con il sorriso e il piacere di averti per cena...come si fa con gli amici. Ho degustato degli ottimi antipasti ( caponata da urlo ) , una pasta con pomodorini e asparagi selvatici ( e chi c'era " megghio de mia ") - una salsiccia alla griglia ( da leccarsi i baffi ) e dei cannoli dalla " cialda" croccante.

Sapere che c'è qualcuno che ti accoglie così a fine giornata è una dolce carezza...
