Triana Restaurant&Lounge — Restaurant in Caulonia

It started badly - and got worse. There are around a dozen tables outside spread across a large lawn. As we arrived, the head waiter tried to seat us as far away from everyone else as it was possible to get (in a dark corner about 30 metres from other diners - seriously). When we refused, he huffily found us a table in the centre. From then on he was grumpy and monosyllabic. A lovely waitress then took our order and was funny, gracious and helpful. She brought a seafood starter and explained what everything was. The head waiter then brought the main dishes and literally dumped it in front of us. No offer of pepper or Parmesan and (worse) we had no cutlery after the starters and I had to go and ‘steal’ some from another table. He continued to be uninterested when we asked for more drinks and also appeared to be moaning at the other staff. The food was mediocre at best (my wife’s spaghetti - despite a long descriptive name - was bland with a mere hint of tomato sauce). Mi è piaciuto tutto di questo posto... l'accoglienza,il portico e il giardino,l'arredamento e nota più importante il cibo! Abbinamenti fantasiosi,freschezza della materia prima....cucinati amabilmente ,con maestria e amore...Le ragazze di sala eccellenti.Penso di aver mangiato la miglior linguina al nero di seppia di sempre,un salmone al gin tonic da leccarsi i baffi,per non parlare del polpo croccante e dell'impepata di cozze ,senza dimenticare la frittura di calamari e l'eccellente risotto al battuto di scampi Insomma un tripudio di sapori e eccellenze nella nostra bella Calabria....vale la pena fare 210 km per...
