I recently visited La Tenuta di Cavallino in Venice and had a truly delightful experience. From the moment I stepped inside, the friendly staff made me feel welcome and ensured I had a memorable dining experience.
The restaurant itself is situated in a beautiful location, offering a picturesque view that added to the overall ambiance. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place for a meal with friends or a romantic evening.
Now let's talk about the food! The pasta at La Tenuta di Cavallino was expertly cooked and bursting with flavors. I highly recommend trying their spaghetti with olio and pepper - it was an absolute delight for the taste buds. In addition to the pasta, the restaurant offers an excellent and assorted variety of pizzas and other traditional Italian dishes. You'll find yourself spoiled for choice!
One of the highlights of my visit was the well-stocked bar, which offered a wide selection of beverages to complement the meal. The relaxed atmosphere of the bar area allowed for a pleasant pre-dinner drink or a post-meal gathering.
Lastly, it's worth mentioning that the restaurant's attention to cleanliness extended to their bathrooms, which were impeccably maintained and spotless throughout my visit. This attention to detail added to the overall positive experience at La Tenuta di Cavallino.
In conclusion, La Tenuta di Cavallino is a hidden gem in Venice, offering friendly staff, a beautiful setting, deliciously cooked pasta (especially the spaghetti with olio and pepper), a fantastic variety of pizzas and Italian dishes, and a relaxing bar. With clean and well-maintained facilities, this restaurant provides an all-around delightful...
Read moreSo second visit tonight. Food pictures are from the first visit. They have changed their menu options a lot from previous years and push the meat/steak options and platters a lot. Unfortunately for some, I like my steaks well done and when I asked for this I was told that the chef would cry and not make it beyond medium. This is typical of service in Italy, say compared to America. I’d like to be clear to the owners. If the chef only wants to cook it medium then the chef can pay for it however if I’m paying a premium price for meat, I want it cooked the way I like it and if not I simply won’t go back. This will likely be the case which is a shame but whilst I am paying the bill I want my food the way I like it. The service is somewhat slow and it’s a shame because the menu from previous years was much better. That said the ribs are very tasty and the desserts are nice. There is a good choice of beers and wines but sadly I won’t be back which is a shame as I come every summer. For 5 of us it’s always a €200 plus bill and you can eat out with a bigger menu variety else where for...
Read moreA short summary of our experience recently at La Tenuta di Cavallino.
Was easy to reserve online. There is a big enough car park outside. Your greeted by a nice host.
Our waiter Luca was excellent and gave us his recommendations for starters and main course. We decided for the mixed seafood platter and the new York strip to share.
Both were amazing! Food quality was superb 👌 Luca checked on us to make sure the food was as expected.
Desert we had Tiramisu and lemon tart. It wasn't as good as we expected as our expectations were pretty high after the starter and main course.
We found it interesting that the restaurant was over 125 years old and they brewed their own beer which they also use in their sauces.
I decided on trying the beer and was not disappointed.
Would definitely recommend visiting for a nice evening meal as a date with your partner or with your family especiallyif you get Luca as...
