Ristorante Pizzeria Paioa — Restaurant in Cavarzere

Have been lunching here a few times over the last 5 years but May's visit is definitely the last. We were greeted by a nice waiter who we recognised who started taking our order. Then older man buts in and restarts taking the order?? The meal was awful, 62€, including cover at 3€ each, poor prawn cocktail, just prawns and red mayo, no lettuce, my carbonara was the worst I'd had in 7 years living in Italy, the older waiter argued with me when I questioned the scrambed egg texture and 1cm cubes of industrial packet so-called pancetta, (cotto/ham) which could not have been cut with such precision in the kitchen and when I mentioned guancale he argues that that is in Rome and they do it with pancetta, I had to ask a waitress to bring parmigianno and she brought an industrial sachet, as in Covid days or hospital food. My husband had to ask for lemon slices to go with his lettuce free prawn cocktail. His green peppercorn fillet steak was awful, not rested, blood seeping all over the sauce, he did want al sangue/rare and the piece of bread some venues here like to serve, probably because the chef has no experience with steaks. We thought the gratin of potatoes with asparagus would be nice but they were awful and straight out if a freezer industrial catering packet. My salad prima vera was fine but a bit of salad with crudo and mozzarella doesn't need skill to unpack/assemble. The original and nice waiter took my card inside at the cassa and no words were exchanged. Obviously the older man/waiter had complained about us to the nice first waiter but the damage is done and we will not be returning when we are on our usual trip to see friends further north. No doubt the restaurant will put it down to our fault as being foreigners, notwithstanding long term permanent residents. Mi spiace dirlo ma non torneremo mai più, nulla di così speciale, gentilissima assolutamente la cameriera e simpaticissima, quella mora con gli occhiali, fossero tutte come lei magari!! Peró il pesce purtroppo grande no.. le cozze che io adoro puzzavano, spero di non stare male questa sera, e avevano un retrogusto orribile, da noi si dice che sapevano “da freschin”, sia il guazzetto che gli spaghetti allo scoglio, ci dispiace perché solitamente siamo sempre cordiali come clienti e cerchiamo di non imbarazzare nessuno ma l’ unica cosa buona è stata la carbonara, la grigliata di pesce, il fritto e risotto. I piatti con all’ interno cozze e vongole assolutamente rasentano il sano. Primo piatto arrivato di spaghetti alle vongole IMMANGIABILE da quanto salato, spero che in cucina abbiano assaggiato (cosa che io lavorando con il pesce e in ristorazione in primis faccio appena c’è qualche piccolo disguido), secondo me comunque le cozze avevano qualcosa che non andava, seriamente. Comunque gentilmente ci hanno riportato gli spaghetti e sta volta non salati ma con le vongole chiuse e praticamente pasta in bianco, risegnalato il problema ci è stato portato un piatto di solo vongole aperte, apprezzabile sicuramente ma non rimediabile agli errori fatti. Dispiace perché comunque è un’ attività ed il personale simpaticissimo, peró sono errori gravi! Abbiamo paura di stare male stasera. Tutto quì. Per favore controllate meglio il tutto perché se annusate le cozze che avete portato al nostro tavolo stasera puzzano. Mi spiace ancora. Bello il locale,...

Locale storico di Cavarzere, bella l'ambientazione rustica del tipico casone di valle anche se l'arredamento è abbastanza desueto. Bel plateatico esterno dove poter mangiare al fresco d'estate. Parcheggio di capienza adeguata al locale. Servizio veloce ed efficiente. Pizza buona uscita dal forno a legna con sopra una frittura bella croccante, pesce buono e fresco, il polpo scottato con purea di zucca mancava purtroppo di mordente. Ottimi la spaghettata allo scoglio e i tagliolini all'astice.

Caratteristica del locale l'abbondante Catalana di mare servita con verdure e frutta fresca, minimo per 2 persone. Bella l'idea per i dolci: sono portati al tavolo in formato monoporzione con un grande vassoio per permettere la scelta visiva. Unica nota stonata l'illuminazione a tubi neon, degna solo di una cantina o garage, purtroppo la luce non era uniforme e sfarfallavano continuamente, alcuni con luce fredda ed altri con luce calda!
