Ristorante La Dama Bianca, which translates to The White Lady, is associated with the castle in Bornato. Simply put, it is a restaurant that is worth travelling to.
The waiting staff are smart, genuinely enthusiastic and attentive. The restaurant also sells the wine available from the castle vineyard. The brut is exceptional value for money, the rose about where it should be. Lovely on a hot afternoon. The wine list was varied, having both local wines and a number from further afield.
The food was exceptional. Great presentation, cooked to perfection, and very tasty. The beef was enough to motivate our return. The freshwater fish with potato was wonderful. The risotto with truffles very slightly al dente and delicious. We had two courses, wine, espresso and limoncello. This quality in Milan would easily be twice the price of their menu. Good value for money.
One regret was that we did not find ask about the history of the building. It’s a lovely space and seems to have similar construction to parts of the medieval castle up the road. We ate outdoors in the courtyard, it was a hot day, but not too hot. The interior benefits from older and ridiculously thick medieval walls and was cooler.

This restaurant stands for everything that makes good authentic Italian cuisine! We were guests at the Villa Biondelli winery and thus became aware of the restaurant opposite. Right at the beginning, the waiter Mattia greeted us with great host qualities. He told us about the concept of the restaurant: Local Franciacorta & wines, locally sourced ingredients. Read moreOrmai siamo clienti fissi..ci sentiamo coccolati dall’inizio alla fine..simpatia,gentilezza e disponibilità dello staff sempre al top..al tavolo abbiamo iniziato con un’entrée gentilmente offerto composto da pomodorini e stracciatella giusto per aprirci lo stomaco😋..dopo di che ci siamo fatti “viziare” con un antipasto di terra comprensivo di affettati ,giardiniera ,marmellata di cipolle rosse caramellate🤤..e altri stuzzichini spettacolari,mia moglie ha scelto la selezione di formaggi..con miele e mostarda,veramente tutto buonissimo e spiegato perfettamente dai ragazzi dello staff super preparati!!!🥂 Come primo abbiamo preso Maccheroncini di pasta fresca con salmì di Lepre, fonduta al Parmigiano e fave di Cacao..veramente spettacolare..e risotto al franciacorta con tartufo a scaglie..😋 Naturalmente non ci siamo fatti mancare nemmeno il secondo ,che consisteva in un Rollè di Coniglio ripieno con Polenta concia con erbette..la foto di quest’ultimo purtroppo non l’ho fatta perché era troppo buono e non ho avuto la lucidità di fotografarlo prima di divorarlo😌..il tutto accompagnato da 3 calici di vino (1 per ogni portata)abbiamo terminato il tutto con un tortino al cacao ripieno di cioccolato e un sorbetto allo zenzero e mandarino,un buon caffè e un limoncello😌.
