Just arrived Rome from USA and found this gem by accident. Absolutely loved this place!
We were hesitant at first as we could not interpret the menu being in Italian. A nice girl at another table assisted us with interpretations. Our server Simona tried but then we found she called the owner, Franco. He came to our table from what we suppose was home to make sure our needs were met. Our selection of three courses shared by our party of four was amazing. The pasta is like I’ve never had, sauces were flavorful, tomatoes and fresh herbs were apparent and delicious. Our wine was affordable and the bread baked to perfection! We left with four bottles of wine to enjoy when we arrived to our destination - Positano! One week of dining and we have been talking of Franco and the staff and menu. We crave the fresh past we had and cannot find in Positano. The food has been good but not something as memorable as this place. Our journey to Tuscany begins in two days and we have made plans to stop back in to Arcinboldi again as we need another fix of this delectable authentic fresh Italian cuisine and hospitality. We landed in Roma and headed south and started looking for a restaurant for our first meal in Italy. We followed google to Ristorante Arcimbolidi in Ceprano and sooo glad we did. The staff was more than wonderful in helping out all the first time visitors to Italy. That day there was a fixed price meal with three options for antipasta, primi and secondi. Read moreGreat local restaurant, not presumptuous, better than a lot of tourist restaurants. Different menu every day, depending on the availability of fresh ingredients. The menu is limited to a small number of options, which is a great thing cause every dish is so precise and gets so much attention. The owner is so inviting, he will see that you fill at home. He offered to take us (tourists) to the markets where he buys his Mozzarella di bufala and Prosciutto. Just amazing!
