La Botteghina Di Wilma — Restaurant in Certaldo

This local family run restaurant was recommended to us by the owners of the property where we are staying. It was wonderful. Having scanned the menu we opted for the 20 Euros per head "let us choose for you menu". The food started coming and 7 delicious courses later we were completely stuffed. Starter of meat croquettes, tomato and cucumber salad, thick spaghetti like pasta in tomato sauce, ribbon pasta with mushrooms and lardo (bacon chunks), roast pork with potatoes, roast chicken, and dessert. ...beh, che dire, dopo quasi 2km di strada bianca, arrivare lì per l'orario di pranzo, dopo due ore e passa di macchina, posto carino, poco parcheggio, entrare, chiedere un tavolo per 2, e il cameriere: "il tavolo c'è lo avrei anche, ma mi dispiace, non vi possiamo fare accomodare, perché abbiamo 4 tavoli pieni e siamo in due camerieri..." Prendiamo, usciamo, conto per curiosità i posti a tavoli che diceva il cameriere, 36 posti apparecchiati, (ho fatto la cameriera per anni, ed io 36 coperti li facevo da sola e senza fatica). E dire che il posto ci aveva anche ispirato, dalle recensioni e dal menù... Ma direi che se la gente non ha voglia di lavorare o se c'è un evento privato, lo si segnala, mettendo un cartello... Quindi, mi dispiace, ma fate bene a cambiare personale!!! Mi dispiace per questa brutta recensione, ma ci siamo rimasti...

The food was good , however the attitude of the waiter and the service was abysmal, food came out at random intervals even though it wasnt busy . I don't know if it was because we were English but the locals were getting better and friendlier service...
