Pizzeria Il Fiano — Restaurant in Certaldo

Unfortunately we experienced a very bad service. Arriving without reservation but restaurant inside was empty so myself, my wife and our 3 daughters seated. One of the local waiters told us that the table was reserved, no sign on any table of reservations. We were asked to seat in the entrance where people were quieing for take away, the table was not even prepared. Then they told us that we at least would have to wait 1 hour to get food. it's clearly that tourists are not welcome!!! Which is also what was experienced by many others. We left the place and went to Certaldo, local pizzeria Diana where we were very welcome and...

Wow! A taste that drew me in more with each bite. At first the pizza didn't look promising but I was wrong... We tried three small or "gigante" as they were labeled. 1. Sausage, onions, and mushrooms. 2. Salamino picante and mushrooms. 3. Margarita with buffalo cheese. The texture and consistency of the crust was superb. The flavor made me want more.

One kind employee spoke enough English to help us order. My Italian is basic and weak.

Excellent pizzas baked in a coal oven, and friendly service. We arrived for a late family dinner around 10:00 in the evening, we ordered 3 large pizzas which were all very tasty, and for dessert we ordered 2 sweet pizzas which were also very good.
