Recently ate here because I was in Cesena for an International Dog Show & it was near where we were staying for the three day event. We arrived about 7:30 on a Thursday evening and it was already chocker full! The seating situation was horrible, like a dormitory lunch hall. Couldn’t even have a conversation with my kennel boy about making plans the following days schedule, seated at the same bench with complete strangers. Anyway we finally managed to order pasta & entree after about 30 minutes. As this was a traditional Romagnola Trattoria, I ordered Strozzapreti alla Ragu , my helper ravioli/Burattinobasilico for the first course. For the second course pork chop & grilled veggies & he ordered grilled chicken with roasted potatoes

Okay after another 30 minute wait, the pasta arrived. Mine was so salty in an extremely oil dripping ragu, after a few bites, it was impossible to eat this. His was definitely a better choice but even this was in a very oily Ragu. Yes I know the tradional cuisine of this region of Italy is quite heavy, but This was Over the top!

After waiting for almost an hour for the main course, we really had to leave because after doing the show during the day, three Goldens to still take out when we got back to B&B, it was a Bit TOO Much!!! With a 6 A.M. wake Up 📞

Putting on our jackets, the entrees arrived. As I was still starving, ask for doggie bag, paid the Bill and got out of this noisy place. Couldn’t even use the Toilet 🚽 because it was 200 meters from the restaurant and it was below freezing outside

To end this never ending critique, we tried heating up our doggy bags in our bungalow which had a kitchen (fortunately we had Finished the Real Dogs) but even this was very...

It is a nice really traditional place, you can really find the essence of Romagna! Everything on the menu is so tasty, but I suggest you to concentrate in the "primi piatti" that are what Romagna is known for. Two exquisite dishes are: tortellini al formaggio di fossa and pappardelle al ragù. You MUST order in advance, even if it is off season you will find it almost fully booked, because the place is really well known. The reason why I didn't give 5 stars is this... It is too crowded, and unfortunately if you eat inside, the noise is super loud, so much that it will be hard to conversate. Lasciate perdere, cibo, servizio e ambiente adatto solo per camionisti ( e non lo dico in modo offensivo verso i camionisti, anzi ...) in pausa pranzo, o adatto a comitive di maschioni veraci con appetito primordiale. Apprezzabile solo la volontà del personale di lavorare in un ambiente con centinaia di posti a sedere ( quasi tutti pieni di un normale lunedì di settembre ) . Cibo che si vuole spacciare per autentica cucina romagnola ma solo nella denominazione dei piatti, tagliatelle e cappelletti al ragù entrambi lasciati nel piatto, tiepidi, cappelletti crudi ( anzi cappellacci, erano enormi ) entrambi i piatti lasciati nel pass in cucina o in padella da qualche minuto, arrivati un mappazzone, antipasto Aie con affettati di qualità discutibile, abbiamo cenato in un dehor pieno di zanzare, un caldo boia, noi una coppia insieme allo stesso tavolo con 3 maschioni sconosciuti che parlavano solo di f.i.g.a e malattie varie ( ma si può) ma c.a.z.z.o, hai 400/500 posti, fai 100 coperti in meno e dai un tavolo ai tuoi ospiti senza fare una community da mensa, pane non pervenuto, sei costretto a pagare delle piadine, ah...il coperto però si paga. Prenotazione inesistente, arrivi, fai la fila per dare il nome, ti siedi all'esterno e aspetti che ti chiamano al megafono , ma vi assicuro che è l'ultimo dei problemi di questo posto, è anche simpatico il modo di farti accomodare. Senza rancore, non mi piace dare pareri negativi, ma questa non è ristorazione, è solo una presa in giro, il locale è strapieno ma solo perché le porzioni sono abbondanti e i prezzi decisamente sotto la media della zona. Prosecco buona scelta qualità/prezzo. Una serata da dimenticare, vado a cena con mia moglie per passare una bella serata, qui è stato un incubo durato 30 minuti più o meno con antipasto e primo, non vedevamo l'ora...

Ragu and tagliatelle was really nice. I would not order pasta in cheese sauce again. Dessert was absolutely amazing and is worth coming back. Our main waiter wasn’t really nice, was laughing about how we pronounced Italian names of dishes, and also didn’t bring us parmesan (we saw that to every other table he brought it the same time as food, we were waiting and finally stand up and go and ask other waiter for parmesan). The second waiter was nice, funny, recommended us the dessert we enjoyed like nothing else.

Per due spiedini misti, che di misto avevano ben poco (un po' di pollo e una salsiccetta da un centimetro di carne) e delle salsicce di pollo che sembravano quelle del supermercato, abbiamo dovuto attendere circa 40 minuti. La cameriera, senza che nessuno le avesse detto nulla, ha borbottato qualcosa a noi e ai nostri vicini di tavolo, dicendo che a tutti capita di sbagliare e, da quel momento, abbiamo capito che c'era qualche problema e che avremmo dovuto aspettatare parecchio...e così é stato. Abbiamo chiesto della piadina da "mangiucchiare" nel frattempo e, nonostante un "ve la porto subito", non é mai arrivata. Il secondo mezzo litro di vino é arrivato dopo che abbiamo finito di mangiare la carne, insieme alla piadina di cui sopra. Piatti "miseri" per non parlare delle DUE patate di contorno. Abbiamo chiesto il conto a diversi camerieri ed ognuno ci ha risposto dicendoci che avremmo dovuto chiederlo alla cameriera che ci aveva servito. Peccato che non si vedeva da oltre dieci minuti. Nel frattempo passava un cameriere con in mano dei piatti caldi che ad alta voce esclamava "Mi...n...chia come bruciano!". Persone ai tavoli in attesa delle loro ordinazioni e camerieri che scherzavano tra di loro. A parte il ragazzo giovane di colore, molto gentile, educato ed attento, il servizio é risultato essere davvero poco gentile e professionale. Cibo e servizio da zero stelle! Sconsigliatissimo!
