Ristorante trattoria la botteghina — Restaurant in Chianni

This restaurant was recommended to me by my Airbnb host. I tried it on the second night of my stay in Chianni. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and classy. It had great old world charm and hospitality. My server only spoke Italian and I had difficulty making out the full menu. I received some assistance from a gentleman at the next table who was dining with his family. They invited me to join them at their table. We had great conversation during dinner.

I ordered two different wild boar dishes one with pasta and one that was more like a stew. It was fabulously tasty. Paired with a local red wine made just up the road I experience true Tuscan cuisine.

For dessert I had the tiramisu which rounded out the evening perfectly. I enjoyed it so much that I went back a few days later for lunch. I had to try the goat! I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone...

I heard somewhere in Chianni that this place was “the three ladies”. And their speciality was home cooked long-time simmer authentic food. Antipasto delizioso di crostini toscani affettati e formaggio locale. Sia i primi che i secondi, questi ultimi caratterizzati da tanti tipi di ottima carne e selvaggina, sono tutti buonissimi. La cucina è tradizionale e il trattamento alla buona. Grande semplicità e cortesia. L'ambiente è pulito luminoso e spazioso quanto basta per una tradizionale trattoria che comunque conta numerosi coperti. La condizione generale dei servizi igienici è migliorabile. Non è stato possibile pagare con Bancomat (no POS). Il prezzo generale per una buona quantità di cibo dal gusto sicuramente saporito è delizioso era più che accettabile. Consigliatissimo. Il posto sembra più indicato per persone di una certa età oppure per qualcuno che bada al sodo in quanto a quello che conta è cioè la bontà del cibo. Non è un posto per vegani. attenzione a non farvi trarre in inganno dall'insegna esterna che dice la Cittadella* si tratta sempre del ristorante trattoria...
