I stayed at a nearby B & B due to a 6:00 flight the next morning and was just looking for something quick for myself while my family rested and packed up. I intended on just a quick beer & pizza so I could get back to rest. I mentioned I was heading back to Philadelphia and had such an amazing conversation with the family owners who also spent time in Philadelphia region in the past. I told them I preferred prosciutto crudo and was recommended a great pizza for only 7 euros (The amount of prosciutto on the pizza alone would be $7 back home). Once he found out my kids were just having some snacks, he offered to have a margherita pizza sliced right out of the oven hot and ready as I was leaving. It was a fantastic way to cap off 9 days in Sicily and I highly recommend a stop here for anyone staying close to the airport and wanting one last pizza before leaving.

Staying close to the Palermo airport the night before our flight to Rome, Sicilia Pizza was right down the road. Family run restaurant that is very welcoming as you enter. They have indoor and outdoor seating including a play area for the children. We sat outside, even though there was a farm close by with some strong smells. I ordered the Margherita Pizza. There was something off about the cheese but I could never figure it out. The crust was good, the tomato sauce was not bad but the pizza had a weird after taste that I think was from the cheese, might have been old. I was able to finish the pizza but it was not one of my favorites in Sicily. My partner ordered Mozzarella Sticks with French Fries, what can I say, they were excellent. Service was friendly. Nice restaurant.

I had a splendid evening with the friendly people at Sicilia Pizza. For me as a norwegian tourist it is great to be able to see the kitchen and the pizza oven, il forno. Had fries/patatine with onion rings, mozarella sticks and some flat cheese things -delicious! After that I had a marvellous pizza with egg plant, salsicchia, mozarella - great! Low pices. But the best thing was the friendly, warm atmosphere and their inviting and including style. It was a cold and VERY rainy night, and to top it all I was even driven back to my hotel, what can you say!!? Thanks!
