We were quite clearly the only non locals in this restaurant, stopped by for a meal after walking Via Francigena. First red flag was when my friend got his pizza and nothing arrived on my side 😄 then I decided to wait and not question this kind of approach of serving food. After 15 min I started to be nervous. During all this time they even didn’t explain the wait. It takes only a second just to inform… but no. I happily watched how my friend finished his pizza which was quite good for electric oven pizza. Then, I made up my mind to depart this place. Second red flag was that seeing that something is wrong they even didn’t try to fix the situation. Just some ridiculous attempts to justify their fault. Clearly no notion of hospitality. Sometimes good food is not enough. I would like to warn other weary travellers on the way of Via Francigena.
p.s. and don’t tell me that it was very busy, there was tons of waiters running around. Disappointing organisation and bad management.
Edit: by the way they treat negative review you can also see their attitude :) hey! step down to the earth and learn some manners and go to hospitality school maybe? :)
And if pizza was from wooden oven - then pizza guy for sure needs to be changed :D
You are working in service for crying out loud :) Italy is not a Roman Empire anymore :) just be simpler and shovel your pride to...
Read moreThis is a charming off-the -beaten path gem. We discovered Le Grazie by chance and will drive the 90 minutes from our home in Sarteano again soon.
We ordered two pasta dishes: the ravioli with scorpion fish in a lemon butter sage sauce was subtle and delicious. It was a smaller serving in contrast to our appetite but worth the experience.
However the fusili with polpa and foie gras was LIFE CHANGING. One of two Italian meals that I may never forget. I cannot imagine the genius that put this combination together, but it is to be celebrated.
If it sounds interesting, run to try it. If it sounds strange drive fast to try it. If you can't imagine trying it, GROW UP.
I rarely photograph restaurant meals though I know photos are appreciated. It wasn't until we'd eaten half the food that we realized we MUST take pictures, though I know they cannot do this...
