Ristorante Pizzeria Il Torrione — Restaurant in Colle di Val d'Elsa

We turned up at 7pm on a Saturday, without booking and were shown to one of the few unreserved tables.

By 8.30 every single one of the 100 or so covers was taken. The restaurant was full of Italians, always a good sign, and the 2 of us.

This is clearly a favourite with the local residents and understandably so.

The food was excellent, and at 55 Euros for 2 courses with wine and coffee, fantastic value.

The waiting staff were all friendly and super efficient.

A wonderful find. From the outside it looks underwhelming, but the restaurant inside is spacious and there is a fantastic terrace to the rear, with a great view of the town.

Would recommend very highly if you want a "true" Italian...

To think we almost passed this gem up! Looking for something simple and casual we stumbled past this place and almost kept walking because from the outside, quite frankly...it doesn't look like much. We were greeted and seated despite not having a reservation by pleasant staff. When our waitress did not speak English she found one that did and she was very helpful in our selections. The food was tasty and the desserts, cheesecake with berries for my husband and a coco-nutella pie for me(which I haven't stopped thinking about since! I would kill for this recipe), we're phenomenal! Highly recommend this place. So bummed we only found it on our last day in Colle...

Myself and my partner were in Italy 3 weeks ago for my birthday and for my birthday dinner I picked here to eat and I have to say my mind was blown! The food was absolutely delicious! The staff were so kind and had fantastic manners, very helpful and attentive to their customers!! I loved the atmosphere! The view was beautiful, the drinks were lovely and the desert was so yummy !! I just cannot wait to go here again once I visit Italy again! The pizza was incredible so was the meat, salad and bread ! Just absolutely delicious! I cannot wait to go back here...
