Volturno Ristorante e Bar — Restaurant in Colli a Volturno

One of the only places to lodge and eat with a Restuarant on the upper section of the Voltuno river where fly fishing is possible with a license and special permit. The permit may be arranged at the hotel directly or with the manager of the river. The river is fly fishing only and strictly catch and release (no kill) zone. The restaurant definitely has good food and very convenient. Rooms are definitely adequate but nothing exceptional. Rooms do not have air conditioning, the last time that I stayed there. With the windows open at night to get cool air or fresh air, truckers (tractor trailers/18 wheelers) pulling in at all hours of the night are disturbing to say the least. Huge gravel parking lot in the back of the hotel can also stir up a lot of dust. Wi-Fi is available but the whole area doesn’t have great service due to the isolated location. My overall rating is 3 stars. But for convenience located on a small fishing stream in southern Italy it rates a big 5 stars. Premetto che c'eravamo stati diversi anni addietro e ci siamo trovati benissimo, raggion per cui abbiamo prenotato per un pranzo. La prima cosa che ci è stato detto al telefono è stato che non accettono animali. Comprendo la politica, ma non è proprio un bell'esordio, (non che avessimo animali da portare). Tavolo per 6 prenotato per le 13.30, ammetto che siamo arrivati con 10 minuti di ritardo purtroppo, ma il tavolo era li a ns disposizione. La sala era quasi piena, giusto 3 tavoli liberi. Dopo circa 10 min, ci chiedono cosa volessimo da bere, e dopo altri 10 min almeno, ci prendono l'ordine. 6 primi, (1 tagliatella ai porcini,1 scialatielli con cacio cavallo, 2 tagliatelle al ragù, 2 ravioli con burrata, dei ravioli in un piatto c'erano 6 pz e nell'altro 7 pz) un arrosto misto per 4, poi 2 patate fritte, 2 patate al forno, 1 insalata. L'ordine è stato preso alle ore 14.00 circa. Alle 14.51 sono andato ad una persona della sala, e con calma ed educazione, l'ho informata che alle 14.55 saremmo andati via. Alle 14.55 in punto, casualmente, sono arrivati 4 dei 6 primi, (e abbiamo fatto presente che le persone al tavolo dietro al nostro, arrivati un bel pò dopo di noi, stavano già mangiando i loro primi da un pezzo) gli altri 2 nostri primi, sono arrivati 10 minuti dopo, alle 15.05. Ci è stato detto che dato che avevamo ordinato alla carta, ci voleva il tempo, ma di menù fissi, non c'era l'ombra, per cui, una risposta del tutto inutile e fuori luogo. Non faccio parte di coloro che credono che il cliente ha sempre ragione, anzi! E rispetto il lavoro altrui! Ma obbiettivamente, non si può aspettare per più di un'ora per mangiare 6 primi, e se questo fosse la normalità, o manca personale, oppure si sono invertite delle command in cucina, o magari altro, quindi al nostro disappunto per l'attesa troppo lunga, mi aspetto delle scuse sincere per un errore di gestione od organizzazione, e non rinfacci sull'ordine alla carta! In aggiunta a ciò, i primi non erano niente di speciale, (e non dico che non fossero buoni) e l'arrosto non era niente di che, (anche qui un pò di attesa). Da bere abbiamo preso 2 btg di coca cola e 2 btg di acqua. Per farla breve, siamo usciti oltre le ore 16.00, (dalle 13.40) senza dessert, ne caffè, ne nulla, volevamo solo andare via. Ho pagato 163€. Giusto? Poco? Troppo? Non so, so solo che avrei preferito anche pagare di più ed avere un servizio come si deve, senza dover aspettare per più di 1 ora per...

We're passing there during our trip, but we were lucky to find this restaurant.. The hospitality was very good, we had to wait 10 minutes until a table is free, because we didn't have reservation and it was Sunday, but that's the point! Our order didn't take so long, we had a fast and good service.. The restaurant was full, but the staff was very organized serving every table, besides, the owner was passing to make sure everybody is satisfied.. I rarely find this good behavior those days. Food was delicious, and prices are reasonable. The decoration is nice, and everything is clean and tidy, which give a good atmosphere.
