Visited Colorno for the Filippo Cantoni rugby tournament at Easter with an other couple and decided to stay here out of convenience, rather than travel from Parma.|My first impression as we pulled up outside was of concern. I had booked the accomodation, we were off the beaten track and we hadn't passed much in the village on our way to this hotel.|We had however found the hidden gem.|Our reception from the owner was friendly and helpful. My room was quite darkly furnished, but it was modern, comfortable and clean.|The location is quiet, but does have a church nearby- the bells didn't bother me, but may bother some, but then I didn't hear much else.|Next door to this hotel, is an excellent restaurant- all run by the same family.|We were advised by a frequent visitor to the area that it was one of the best around. Having tried it, I don't doubt that advice.|On our first night, and having already eaten, we were staggered by the cheese and ham platters that came with our wine, which we had intended as a night-cap.|The hospitality that we experienced that night carried right through our stay.|After a busy day of watching rugby we returned to relax in the court yard with an other wine from the range of Italian wines available......and more ham and cheese.|Our evening meal was excellent as was the service and advice.||Breakfast was excellent too, with a good selection including meats, cheese, cakes, bread and fresh fruit. We had boiled eggs on Easter Sunday too. Nothing was too much trouble.||Would be more than happy to recommend if visiting the area and would definitely use this hotel and...

Read moreArriving on a very hot day (38C) after a long drive to step inside this tranquil cool hotel was wonderful. The hotel has recently been upgraded and it is modern but very comfortable with great attention to detail. The air conditioning was perfect there is a lift which we were glad of and our reception at the hotel was warm and friendly. We had a lovely room with an en suite modern shower room, a very comfortable bed, TV and fridge. Downstairs there is a small sitting room with tea and coffee making facilities and home made cookies. The staff were very helpful an professional. Attached is a great restaurant where we had a delicious evening meal and good breakfast the following morning. The hotel is situated about 250 yds from the river Po and there is a little park. The village is more of a hamlet with a handful of buildings. The approach through light industrial buildings makes you wonder where you will end up but this B&B is well worth a visit and there is much to do locally. We hope to visit again whether just overnight en route or for a short stay to...
