After traveling up the windy mountain road we were delighted at the location which was quiet, with mountain views all around. We were given room 400, which was very spacious, with and entrance hall, bedroom with a small balcony and good sized bathroom. Everything was panelled in fresh pine and very clean. No bath, only shower, with shower caps and toiletries and a hairdryer. Our travelling companions did not have quite such a spacious room, but it was very pretty. We thought we had fallen on a good choice, until we got to the restaurant. It all looked nice with interesting pictures and photos, and stuffed animals around the walls. However, the service was dismal, and the menu even worse. The main thing on the menu was deer, or beef. There was no chicken, pork, lamb or fish. I opted for a spaghetti Bolognese. My sister in law, spaghetti with mushrooms, and the men took meat, one deer and the other beef. I could have made a better spaghetti Bolognese myself, and my sister in law could not eat hers, as she said the mushrooms were slimy, there was no sauce, and the spaghetti was slimy too. The men managed to eat their food and I ate mine as I was hungry. We requested the wine menu three times, before finally getting it halfway through the meal. The staff never once came to check if everything was OK, and when clearing away, it must have been obvious to the waitress, that my sister in law had left all her spaghetti, but there was no mention of it. As she was hungry, my sister in law ordered berries, which were nice, she said. I guess you cannot go too wrong with fruit. Breakfast was better, with the usual selection of continental meats and cheeses Its a shame that this hotel does not have a better customer relations attitude, as it is a great setting and we could not fault the cleanliness, but the staff really did not seem interested in us, despite the fact that most seemed to have some command of English. For this reason I have...

The staff’s unwavering commitment to ensuring our comfort stands out, as they diligently work to make every stay enjoyable. The culinary offerings are a highlight, with each meal meriting high praise. On this visit, the daily menus were carefully crafted, presenting a splendid variety of dishes. The regional specialties offered a genuine taste of the local cuisine, while the desserts were simply sublime, providing a perfect complement to the flawlessly served coffee. The selection of Nebbiolo wines was exceptional, enhancing our dining experience further. We are deeply impressed and filled with gratitude for the kind hospitality extended to us.
