Fantastic location Good food, fresh on the grill prepared by someone who likes to really make it good.
We went twice!
But why the hell am I giving only one star! The one star is even exaggerated. Let me explain the SECOND visit. The restaurant owner spoiled my visit completely and to an extent I have NEVER £EVER been treated. (and I have A LOT of experience with wines in fine restaurants)
I wanted to drink a really good wine from valtellina.
I order a 62Euro bottle from 2019. So far so good.
I tasted it and I didn't like it. It was 'disconnected'. It for me clearly was defaulted. Early stage of cork (it wasn't smelling or tasting cork yet, but it had similar effect as early cork, losing all its fruit and being completely unbalanced), or another default.
It told this, the waiter tasted and said I was right it was not ok; But two minutes later the boss arrives. Asked me if there was something wrong. He tasted the wine and said it was Ok. (while it clearly was not) Saying it didn't taste like corky wine. And he knew because 'he was a sommelier, and I was not...' He did NOT want to change it.
Then I asked to PAY a second bottle, such that we can taste the difference. He accepted, and we tasted it : it was COMPLETELY different. The second bottle was really nice and he AGREED there was a big difference, but not due to cork.
I can still more or less accept this, but what happened next is incredible.
Suddenly he puts the cork very quickly on the bottle and goes away 'with the bad bottle'. In a very swift move.
thinking of course I don't taste the difference.
Well, unfortunately I DID taste : we still had the BAD bottle, without fruit, dislocated, defaulted.
I had some tasting glasses left showing the extreme difference between the two bottles. I took half of the bottle to my hotel to let it taste by two wine lovers.
The both agreed the bottle was BAD. (but indeed not corked, which I admit!)
Conclusion : this guy is a CROOK.
It is unfortunate for such a nice place...But this is absolutely unacceptable.
He probably changed it to laugh about me not being able to taste the difference.

One of the best place we have ever been! Perfect for couple of days of detoxing and cleansing. After 16:00 the whole world is all yours! No noise. No light outside. Only the quietness and pure nature. One of the best spa room and outdoor wood house sauna with fascinating views. And a fancy high level restaurant run by a young and creative chef with surprising menu every dinner. They provide all the services you need from ski class to mountain guide tours. A hidden treasure in the Italian Alps - Sunny Valley Mountain Lodge! Das Skigebiet Santa Caterina im Valfurva ist geprägt vom Gastgeber und Unternehmer Beppe Bonseri. Auf Ihn geht die Kelo Mountain Lodge zurück, ein alpiner Prachtsbau auf über 2700müM. Es bietet nebst Restaurant auch 11 individuelle und wunderschöne Zimmer in unterschiedlichen Grössen. Das Wort Kelo stammt aus Lappland und bedeutet Holzstrunk - aus Holz ist die Lodge gebaut. Die Terasse draussen ist sehr grosszügig mit vielen Sonnenliegen zum geniessen. Ein Restautant für Tagesgäste bietet gute und einfache Küche, während das Steakhouse die gehobenen Ansprüche befriedigt (sollte man vorreservieren!). Der absolute Knaller ist jedoch der Dining Room für Hotelgäste - wenn man noch dazu das unverschämte Glück hat, einen Abend mit dem hochtalentierten Chefkoch Tommaso zu verbringen, der dann auch noch Lust hat ein Überraschung Menu zu zaubern - einfach nur ein Hochgenuss Veltliner Kochkunst! An der Talstation hat es eine Ladestation für Tesla's - die Anreise wird sympathisch organisiert von Betty. Wenn man dann mit der Seilbahn (8er-Kabinen) auf dem Berg ankommt und auf die Lodge runterschaut in der Hochebene - Atemberaubend! Das Skigebiet ist grosszügig, gut geeignet für gute Skifahrer (bei genug Schnee auch super für Pulverschnee off-piste Skifahren). Aber es gilt, Beppe ist die gute Seele der Mountain Lodge, es gibt kaum einen Wunsch oder Idee welche er auf herzlich italienische Art nicht erfüllen kann. Er und Betty sprechen auch bestens Englisch, das Personal nicht immer. Der Chef im Service ist Paolo - von Ihm können sich die jüngeren Kollegen gerne eine Scheibe abschneiden.
