Trattoria Traversi — Restaurant in Comunità montana della Valtellina di Sondrio

My partner and I dined here and stayed at the conjoining hotel during a cycle trip from Bormio to Como and it was one of the best experiences of our trip so far (which is saying a lot because it’s been an amazing trip). The restaurant and hotel are family owned and you can just tell how much they care, we had an amazing time and can’t recommend both places enough!

We had dinner at the trattoria and the pasta was delicious, and the wine selection was amazing. The service was also a 10/10. Our Italian is not very good (sadly it’s kind of terrible) and we really appreciated the owner taking time to explain things to us and help us through the menu. We tried one local pasta dish that had the most delicious noodles, they were a mix of white and black flour.

The room we stayed in was adorable and stayed surprisingly cool at night. The town was adorable and very walkable. And the owner of the hotel met as at the door as we arrived to help get us settled, which we very much so appreciated after biking up the very steep hill to get there!

We also got breakfast at the trattoria in the morning and it was such an amazing spread. We had delicious tarts, meats, cheese, eggs, bread, juice and coffee. It was such a nice way to start the day and again the service was amazing.

Thank you so much for an amazing experience, we hope to be back again and can’t recommend both...

During my vacation in Sondrio, after reading the reviews, I decided to book the dinner. Unfortunately, the evening didn't go as I'd hoped, due to the slow, arrogant, and overbearing service. After the excessive behavior of the waiter and the other waiter in that situation, I made a mistake in staying and not getting up immediately. (My education decided for me.) A shame for them, if it weren't for the poor service I would have given a good review, right from the first impact I really liked the atmosphere like a romantic and beautifully furnished nest , and nothing to complain about the good dishes either. P.S A word of advice from someone who's worked in the restaurant industry. Communication is the key when you're working with people . And "Antipasto" is served before meals, not all at once.

Le dico che non si dovrebbe permettere di dire falsità mio figlio non ha fatto nulla e far passare noi genitori come quelli del" tutto è concesso" è sbagliato anche perché alla prima volta che gli ho detto di non sbattere due giochini tra di loro ha subito smesso quindi il suo intervento era fuori luogo! E se per lei troppo rumoroso significa sbattere due giochini tra di loro be che dire forse è meglio che mette un bel cartello fuori con scritto che i bambini non so ben accetti! Non oso immaginare se dovesse entrare un neonato magari con delle colichette in corso! E a questo punto di trattoria avete ben poco e quello che vi manca sicuramente è la bontà d'animo visto che rideva bellamente mentre mio figlio piangeva! Abbiamo sbagliato a rimanere seduti dovevamo alzarci e andarcene Buon giorno, siamo felici che vi siate trovati bene e che abbiate apprezzato l'ambiente e il cibo, riguardo all'accaduto con il bambino gradirei fare solo 2 piccole precisazioni, il cameriere/proprietario è colui che sta rispondendo alla recenzione e conferma di aver ripreso vostro figlio dopo che a fatica siete riusciti a farlo sedere e che dopo che rumoreggiava da un bel po' e voi cercavate invano di calmarlo ma non sortivate nessuno effetto su di lui mi sono permesso , pacatamente e seriamente si dirgli di fare il bravo o non si poteva stare al ristorante così! Oramai ciò che pare normale è diventato scandaloso. Ovviamente il bimbo si è zittito e ha messo il muso, i genitori al posto che prenderne atto hanno assecondato i capricci di loro figlio come ormai è uso e mi hanno chiamato per confermare che fosse uno scherzo, ( perché ovviamente è tutto lecito e guai a riprendere un bambino ) . Io mi sono limitato a fare presente che non era successo nulla di grave e mi sono spinto a chiedere se per caso il bimbo non fosse mai stato ripreso, mi scuso per l'accaduto perché non avrei forse dovuto dire nulla al bambino ma avrei dovuto riprendere i genitori, però ho trovato più efficace la prima opzione . Spero solo che chi legga la recensione capisca la dinamicha e serva a sconsigliare a famiglie con bambini troppo vivaci di venire da noi perché effettivamente non è il locale adatto, questo...
