Hotel Ristorante "San Marco" — Restaurant in Comunità Montana di Scalve

We stayed in this delightful hotel 3 years ago for a family holiday, returning to the village where we spent holidays as children and now coming back over 25 years later with our own children. The Hotel is just outside Schilpario on the main road and in the hamlet of Pradella. The rooms are a good standard, very clean and our room had a simply stunning "picture postcard" view. We stayed for a week in the hotel on a half board basis and the owners could not have done more to make us feel welcome, each evening dining on wonderful local cuisine and enjoying local wines (there is a good extensive wine list). There is a small bar and a terrace where you can sit and watch the world slip gently by against a verdant green backdrop of alpine scenery. The owner of the hotel also has a small minerals museum in the basement which is a labour of love and displays the most stunning collection of crystals and minerals that he has collected over the years and he will be only too happy to give you a guided tour. There is tons to see and do in the local area, fantastic alpine walks, a visit to the old mines perhaps or for the younger ones the Water park at Darfo is around 45 mins drive away. Lake Iseo is also within an hours drive and well worth a day trip with boat tours departing from Lovere, you can do a full tour and be back at the hotel in time for DInner! e Dopo la cucina speciale con erbe locali ... Ambiente accogliente e familiare .. e dopo il dolce chiedete ad Antonio di poter ammirare il Museo di minerali e fossili ... resterete strabiliati !! Non potete perdere questo passaggio in Val di Scalve !!! :-)

dopo questa recensione di 6 anni fa ..mi ritrovo a recensire ora nel 2023 ..ma sempre con 5 stelle l'inizio di uno splendido cammino di due giovani che sono subentrati alla precedente gestione. Vanno subito al top ..per me almeno .. paste fatte in casa ..ottima scelta qualitativa delle materie prime ( sia carne che pesce ) ottima presentazione ed ampi spazi per godersi al meglio le loro delizie gastronomiche. Non ho ancora provato tutto ..ma Vi prometto che appena trovo un piatto che non mi piace lo scrivo qui .. per ora e' TUTTO OTTIMO ! BRAVISSIMI Sara Federico e tutti i giovani che li affiancano .....
