The restaurant's location is directly on the lake. The view in the evening through the windows onto the lake with the shimmering lights is beautiful. In the summer on the balcony it will probably be even more of a highlight. The menus are carefully selected and offer a good choice for omnivores as well as vegetarians or even vegans. The interior is very stylish and you immediately feel at home. The service was very friendly, checking at the table to make sure everything was ok, but not too pushy. The ‚kitchen greeting‘ the was unfortunately not vegetarian with octopus - although we informed them that one person was vegetarian. But they made a delicious salad on request, which was not on the menu, without batting an eyelid. My boyfriend chose the delicious artichokes. For the main course, we opted for the white chocolate risotto with tonka bean influence and the mussel sauce pasta. Harmoniously balanced between sweet, sour and spicy. Pasta was on point al dente. Deutsch: Beim Stöbern auf Google Maps nach einen netten Hotel mit gutem Restaurant auf dem Weg von Mainz nach Livorno sind wir auf die Dama del Porto gekommen. Auch weil wir am Lago Maggiore noch nie Stopp gemacht hatten. Unsere Erwartungen wurden nicht enttäuschet. Die Lage des Hotels ist fantastisch. Direkt am See mit wunderbarer Aussicht und sehr ruhig (wenn man vom gelegentlichen Schnattern zweier Gänse absieht). Es ist nicht luxuriös, aber schön modernisiert und hat moderate Preise. Aber für uns fast noch wichtiger: Es hat ein Restaurant mit gehobener Küche, die ihre regionalen Wurzeln nicht verleugnet. Wir haben alla Carte gegessen, jeweils Antipasto, Pasta und Hauptgericht sowie gemeinsam ein Dessert. Zusammen mit einer Flasche eines sehr guten Rotweins (die Weinkarte machte insgesamt einen guten Eindruck), einer Flasche Wasser und zweier Kaffee haben wir nur wenig mehr als 60 Euro pro Person gezahlt (den Rabatt, den Hotelgäste im Restaurant bekommen, schon abgezogen). Das Wörtchen „nur“ ist hier nicht hochmütig gemein, sonderen sehr ernst. Denn für die gute Qualität der Zugtaten und die kreative Zusammenstellung der Gerichte würde man andernorts meist mehr zahlen – zumahl die wunderbare Ausicht duch zwei große Panoramafeenster auf den See auch noch dazu kommt. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und werden, wenn es sich ergibt, gerne nochmals den Umweg über die kurvigen Straße am See entlang machen um in der Dama del Porto zu zu Essen zund zu schlafen. Die beiden jungen Brüder, die zuvor für viele Jahre im Ausland gearbetet haben, haben dieses Restaurant mit Hotel erst vor gut einem Jahr eröffnet. Wir wünschen ihnen weiter hin viel Erfolg!

Italiano: Navigando su Google Maps alla ricerca di un hotel carino con un buon ristorante sulla rotta da Mainz a Livorno, ci siamo imbattuti nella Dama del Porto. Anche perché non ci eravamo mai fermati sul Lago Maggiore. Le nostre aspettative non sono state deluse. La posizione dell'hotel è fantastica. Direttamente sul lago con una vista meravigliosa e molto tranquilla (a parte il chiacchiericcio occasionale di due oche). Non è lussuoso, ma ben modernizzato e ha prezzi moderati. Ma per noi era ancora più importante che avesse un ristorante con una cucina di alto livello che non rinnega le sue radici regionali. Abbiamo mangiato alla carta, ciascuno con antipasto, pasta e piatto principale, e un dessert insieme. Insieme a una bottiglia di un ottimo vino rosso (la carta dei vini ci ha fatto una buona impressione), una bottiglia d'acqua e due caffè, abbiamo pagato solo poco più di 60 euro a persona (deducendo già lo sconto che gli ospiti dell'hotel ottengono al ristorante). La parola "solo" non è intesa in modo altezzoso, ma molto serio. Per la buona qualità dei contenuti e la composizione creativa delle pietanze, infatti, altrove si pagherebbe solitamente di più - tanto più che c'è anche la splendida vista sul lago attraverso due grandi finestre panoramiche. Siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti e, se si presenterà l'occasione, rifaremo volentieri la deviazione lungo la tortuosa strada del lago per cenare e dormire alla Dama del Porto. A hidden gem on the east coast of Lago Maggiore, perfect for a couple of quiet days, or even a longer period, if you want to have a place with serenity and tranquility.

The rooms are all recently renovated in a simple and warm style. The views are amazing, especially if you get a view to the lake. You will have a direct view of Isola Bella, Isola Madre and breathtaking mountains right behind. At your feet you have a small harbor with boats quietly rocking on the gentle, turquoise water.

The food is amazing. Really good gourmet style feed at extremely reasonable prices. It is almost too good to be true. Excellent breakfast with homemade apricot jam.

The best part, however, is the friendliness and warmth of Matteo and his team. Absolutely one of a kind service-mindedness and attention to detail.
