Janbo — Restaurant in Cortina d'Ampezzo

I rarely review unless what I’m reviewing is exceptionally good or horrible. This place falls into the latter category. • The waitress seemed dull, listless and lazy. She pointedly ignored us, though we were looking at her expectantly, until I was about to get up and speak to her—about 15 minutes after she seated us and she was standing in place, apparently doing nothing.

Once she came to our table, she botched our beer order (I had spoken to the bar tender about their beers in order to choose while we were waiting). Since she didn’t speak english and I speak very little Italian, I just clearly pointed to our desired beers, pictured on the menu. • I ordered a chicken sandwich. The bread was stale, the chicken dry as a bone. It was the worst meal I’ve ever had in Italy! • She botched the food order as well. I had a choice of sweet potato fries or “classic.” I said classic but got the other. I don’t know if she was just really dumb or disliked me for some reason (I’m always as kind as I can be to wait staff; their job is hard).

The place was not busy. There’s no excuse for her behavior. It’s a cheap and unpleasant place (overly loud music) with terrible food...

I recently dined at this place and I was extremely disappointed with the overall experience.

Our server was unprofessional and rude, barely acknowledging us throughout the meal. When he did come by our table, he seemed more interested in chatting with he's coworkers and singing loudly (which is good, good vibe) than taking our orders or checking in on our meal.

The food was equally disappointing. The dishes were poorly executed, with undercooked meats and bland flavors. The presentation was lackluster, and it was clear that little care had been put into the preparation of the food. drinks were good tho!

To make matters worse, we noticed several health code violations throughout the restaurant, including our server coughing, sneezing and making weird sounds from he's throat.

Overall.... the experience was extremely disappointing. The service was unprofessional and rude, and the food was some of the worst we've ever had. We will not be returning, and I would highly recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs. There are far better dining options available, and you deserve to spend your money on a meal that is both enjoyable and...

How to go from 5 stars to 1 star in two visits? Have nice food and nice polite attentive serving staff (5 stars), BUT have an ignorant owner who is too busy trying suck up to the locals to take an interest in his customers. This 1 Star review is for the owner being that rude and greedy to tell a couple who he seated on a table of four to shift up and share their table with another couple who arrived whilst his friend sat on a table for four next to them nursing the end of a drink. Both couples were insulted and appalled by your greed and lack of basic customer service.
