We were staying about 15 minutes away with not much nearby, so decided to head into Cortina d'Ampezzo and found La Tavernetta di Cortina on Google. Iām really glad we tried it ā we had a lovely meal here! The restaurant is just a few minutesā walk from the main high street, so nice and central. Thereās no parking on-site but plenty of car parks nearby, so itās not a problem. Thereās both indoor and outdoor seating, and the decor inside is really traditional and cosy. The staff were welcoming and, even though it was fairly busy, we got a table straight away. Thereās a ā¬3 coperto per person, which is pretty standard and didnāt bother us. Service was quick and friendly ā we were seated right away, given time to choose, and the food came out promptly, which was ideal after a long day out walking. Drinks and mains were a little on the pricey side (e.g. ā¬7 for a medium Coca-Cola), but the pizzas were very reasonably priced and there was loads of choice. Weāve been looking for a proper Neapolitan-style pizza with that soft, puffy crust (a lot of places nearby serve thin, flat ones), and these came very close. Freshly made, wood-fired, and absolutely delicious! If youāre in the area and fancy a good quality pizza spot, Iād definitely recommend La...

Really high quality meal with excellent service. You can tell a lot of effort went into the execution of each plate. Cacio e pepe was really good, but agree with others it was too salty to be able to take on the whole plate. I think the cheese they use carries a lot of salt and overlaps too much with the seasoning of the noodles. The fresh pepper on it was a delight and overall I enjoyed it. Order a pizza with no hesitation. The crust came well-done, which is my preference, and that allowed it to handle the cheese and sauce without falling apart. Our pie was accented with pumpkin and pesto flavors, which gave it a nuanced touch. The schnitzel was straightforward and would have benefited from a sauce or gravy, but technically came out really good. And of course, the apple strudel was a solid closer.
This was my favorite restaurant in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe spent three evenings dining out in Cortina, and La Tavernetta di Cortina was by far the best restaurant we visited. Like most places in Cortina, the prices are on the higher side, but the food here was absolutely worth it. My Pizza Buffalina was outstanding!
We didnāt have to wait long for the food, which was great. However, I would recommend mentioning your timing preferences when ordering. My husband had a primo and secondo, and my pizza was served together with his primo. He had already finished his primo by the time I had just finished cutting my pizza, and by the time his secondo arrived, I had already finished eating. So we didnāt really eat together. If you'd prefer to eat at the same time, it might be a good idea to ask for the pizza to be served with the secondo ā though of course, that depends on how hungry you are.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend this place and would...
