We were a group of five looking forward to dinner at Ariston. Before heading out, we checked the website, which clearly stated “no reservations in advance.” Based on that, we decided to just walk in.

When we arrived, we saw several empty tables, yet the staff told us—rather coldly—that no tables were available. What made the situation more frustrating was that, while we were still standing outside, we saw other people being seated right away. This left us wondering: were those guests allowed to book in advance despite the website stating otherwise? Or was there simply a lack of consistency in the policy?

In the end, we left disappointed and unsatisfied. The response we received from the staff was unhelpful, and the overall experience felt unfair. At the very least, the restaurant should clarify how their seating policy actually works —whether reservations are accepted or not— so guests don’t waste their time or...

They refused to serve me and some friends on the premise that they can't accommodate 7 persons (which is perfectly understandable) but when I said that we can also go with a table of 4 and a table of 3, the hostess (a blond lady) said she can't accommodate this variant as well, so all in all 1 star for the refusal to serve clients, no idea how the food is since I didn't get a chance to eat there, but my impression is that they refuse to serve clients based on some unknown factor, what that factor is I have no idea, bottom line I was refused by a hostess that simply refused to make any kind of effort to at least try and accommodate us.

As other 1 star reviews mentioned, this restaurant refuses to serve some clients, it seems racist to refuse customers when you have empty tables and come up with various reasons not to let customers in or not even offer to put them on the so called...

As Victor said below in the 1 star review from last week - this EXACT same experience just happened to my girlfriend and I this time on a Wednesday evening at 8:30. ‘Full’ but 7-8 free tables in plain sight, ‘pretend list’, no line or queue of people, ‘come back in 30 and maybe we’ll have a spot open’… none of the 7 open tables were even set.

From Victor last week: “Didn’t even managed to pass the gate on a Sunday evening as one of the waiters told my girlfriend and I they were full and that we had to comeback 30 minutes later which was surprising as there were empty tables. The weird part about this was the famous “list” of people waiting for a free table which was again surprising as no one was queuing. Anyway, the guy wasn’t able to show me the list as of course there was none and straight up lied to our faces. Would recommend to be less deceitful and buy some...

TL;DR: good food, fast and friendly service, reasonable price. We will be back! We arrived around 7:15PM, the restaurant was as literally empty, we were promptly seated. The restaurant got full in the following 15 minutes. I had the caprese salad, and the meat/truffle pasta, ending with the reversed cappuccino. Everything was tasty! I took a glass of white wine for starter and red for my main dish and they both good. Perhaps very surprisingly, the service was friendly (not often in Italy) and fast! We oftentimes don’t go to restaurants because we don’t want to spend 2 hours on a meal. This place made it as quick as you want.

What a fun place this was. We were on a tour into Cortina from Austria so we could see Lake Misurina and Tre Croci Pass. We could almost 'feel' Italy when we crossed the border, so this lovely little Italian restaurant seemed like the perfect fit. It was! We had some wonderful Calzoni, paired with a nice white wine. They grow their own grapes, so the wine is family produced. Friendly, efficient service and generous portions. Restooms are downstairs and parking is across the street. Both are free. Seasonal closures from early June to early July, and in November. During the off-season the restaurant is closed on Thursdays.

Low reviews on google are so irrelevant. How could you rate 1 star to a restaurant that does not accept you because they are full at the moment and you don’t even bother to turn up early? 1 star because of the system is just diabolical. Cancerous reviewers. Anyway, the food was amazing. The spaghetti with tomatoes (couldn’t remember its name) was my fav, simple yet rich in flavor. I love all the food we ordered. House wine - red is definitely not disappointing. Definitely worth your effort to come early at 7pm when they open for dinner and book yourselves a table.
