Unfortunately a terrible tourist experience. Would recommend avoiding and going elsewhere unfortunately. We dined here on 4th of August.
We asked the very charming maitre d' to recommend some appetizers, and ordered some pastas and mains. We settled on a seafood platter and an antipasto platter, as two of our group of six dont eat seafood.
When the appetizers came out, there were 6 platters in total (3 seafood, 3 antipasto). This was so much food that it didnt fit on our large table. The waiters then brought a 2nd table on wheels to put the overflow food on (3 more platters). This was an absurd amount of food, especially considering there were primi and secondi coming.
We brought this to attention, and in our minds were willing to accept a communication issue except:
They did let us cancel the primi and secondi, as we were obviously full from this stupidly large amount of food requiring two tables to hold.
All in all, we paid €240 for appetizers and a bottle of wine. It was a truly terrible experience. We all left with a sour taste in our mouths.
Plenty of places to eat in Cortina....
Read moreThis place is in a hotel and out of town… the best thing in crowded Cortina. Seafood in the mountains? Why not? A welcome change from pizzas and Austrian-leaning food. It’s up on a little hill and the view is spectacular seated outside in the summer. Service was true Italian charm… another welcome change from the Austrian side of the dolomites.. Signor Antonio was the kindest, sweetest, funniest person ever! We had the squid salad, squid ink spaghetti and crab gnocchi… all really good. No need for any salt to bring out the fresh taste of the sea. Wines also did not disappoint. We had a glass of DOCG Prosecco, premium white and red and they were all more than satisfactory. To be absolutely honest, desserts were just ok. But after everything that went before it, would still say it’s a must visit. Prices def lower than the rest of the city centre...
