Enoteca Meucci — Restaurant in Cortona

Update: We went back for dinner and had an incredible, incredible meal. We opted for the chef's tasting menu and each course was crafted and presented perfectly. Wine pairings were expert and delicious. This was one of our favorite meals in Italy and the experience was ten times better than EVERY restaurant we tried in Cortona. (And here you won't be crammed into a tiny space with only tourists.) Drive down the hill and eat here - it is an exceptional, local experience.

Original: Review is for the wine shop. Wow, what a fantastic find in the Cortona/Camucia area. Extensive selection of wines from Italy and beyond, including a large selection of sparkling wines including champagne.

They also have one of the better selections of liquor that we have found in the area.

The meal was just aweful. We ordered the duck breast and red snapper. The duck skin was not rendered properly and the fish was not fresh and the skin was soggy. When we told the server we were unhappy with the food she continually asked if we wanted to talk to the chef. Why would we want to do that when this chef was supposedly nominated for a Michelin star. He should no better how to cook duck breast and a fish with skin on 🙄please don’t bother, there are very skilled chefs at other restaurants that actually know how...
