I have used Locanda Benetti several times when in the area on business and it is of a very high standard. I really enjoy staying there, and would be happy to use it if holidaying in the area.||Costabissara is approx. 10km north of the centre of Vicenza and is a quiet residential village with little through traffic.Locanda Benetti is a family business with a restaurant and half a dozen rooms on the first floor of the building immediately opposite - I believe there are some rooms over the restaurant itself, but I have only stayed in the separate block . Rooms are finished to a very high standard, modern, spacious, and immaculately kept. Free WiFi in rooms, free off-street parking. Italian style breakfast is included- croissants, pastries, etc, and of course superb coffee. The restaurant is very good, reasonably priced, and popular with locals, so best to book. Friendly staff, who speak some English. "Official" rack rate for my room with large single/small double bed is 67 euros, but I paid less than 50.||Only negative points, no apparent disabled access to first-floor rooms, and if it's raining you get wet crossing the road to breakfast!||Strongly recommended if you are in the Vicenza area but want a small, quiet place to stay, out of the city, with no compromise...

Read moreCostabissara is just a little village, but this hotel is marvelous. It's very much a place to get the local Italian experience, far off the tourist path. The proprietor is professional but wonderfully friendly. You enter the hotel to find yourself in a quaint and cozy bar instead of a lobby. There's a picture of the proprietor and his brother riding bikes as kids in the stairwell. Our sleeping room was small but lovely. Big casement windows opened onto a view of the neighborhood and an herb and vegetable garden where the hotel chef was clipping basil for the kitchen. Dinner in the courtyard was a sublime experience, full of Italians dining for hours, savoring life and laughter and family and wine. The food was some of the best we've eaten ... anywhere. The morning we left, the proprietor have us a bag of homemade biscotti. Staying here was one of the highlights...
