The best traditional restaurant in the Courmayeur region, hidden in the beautiful Val Ferret Valley at the feet of the majestic Mont Blanc. In the summer, it's the perfect palce where to enjoy a quiet and delicious dinner in the evening, where to stop for lunch and reboost your energies during a hike or a bike-ride up the mountain, or where to simply spend the day and sunbathe on their terrace. In the winter, it is the longed for prize at the end of a challenging hike or cross-country skiing in the snow. Must-tries on their menu are: the "Valpellinense" soup (dark bread, cabbage, fontina cheese and meat broth, cooked in the oven), their “gnocchi alla fonduta” (potato-based gnocchi covered in fontina cheese fondue), the “polenta” (a grit-like dish made from coarse stone-ground cornmeal) and “polenta concia” (polenta with butter and fontina cheese) with their side-dishes (sausage, stewed meats, mushrooms, cheese, …) and, especially, their...

I was hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc and stayed here one night. I loved it! The location is great. There are beautiful walks right here, and a trout farm nearby that offers entertainment especially for kids. The staff (family) was really kind and helpful. There is a large clothesline area with clothespins for your use, and I did a big handwashed load so I had fresh clothes for a few days. There is prosecco on tap (!) for 2.5 euros. Dinner was fantastic, and breakfast was very good. The large patio and other outdoor seating were really nice. Wifi was good. We did share a bathroom (toilet & shower) but there were enough of them, and there is a sink in...

We actually stayed here for a night during our tour du Mont Blanc. It's a wonderful place to stay and eat for several reasons; firstly, it's family run, very old and very historic -and the ambience of the place reflects that rustic charming Refugio look and feel. The family that runs this place invented crampons! Secondly, The food is excellent - simple, wholesome and traditional Italian family food. Accommodation is clean and comfortable even though bathrooms are shared. There's more than enough for the occupants

Hotel Lavachey has gone above and beyond. I’ve been doing the TMB trail for 5 days now and this has been the most amazing meal we’ve had so far. The roast chicken is a must have, crispy yet succulent. The food is made with great care and love, fantastic dining. The hotel itself also has amazing history and equipped with cozy rooms and fantastic bathroom facilities. Definitely recommend for all travellers.

Ottimo ristorantino a Lavachey. Personale super cordiale e simpatico, consiglio.
