We have waited more than 2.5 hours for our main dishes. Allegedly they ran out of gas in the kitchen but our cold appetizer came also 1 hour late… The waiters came to apologize a couple of times and promised that our meal is coming shortly. Sadly it didn’t happen though. After 1 hour they brought us our appetizers which was “just Ok” and very well overpriced considering the raw materials used up. Approximately 30 minutes later they brought us a pizza so we don’t starve since they were not able to bring our ordered dishes. We appreciated it but we would have preferred our ordered meals (some seafood pasta dishes) Appropriately 2 minutes before we agreed to leave without food our dishes arrived finally. It wasn’t bad but it was max. average food in Sicily and definitely not something I would have waited for so long.. and considering the price it was definitely not worth it. I still don’t understand why they didn’t say on our arrival that they can’t handle another 4 people this evening… considering the 3-4 different excuses they provided throughout the waiting time. Eventually they offered us some discount (~ the 2 bottles of water and the coperto as I calculated since we didn’t even get a proper receipt - it was a sheet of paper with a handwritten price - just the total amount) and offered a digestive which we didn’t take as we needed to drive early in the morning so drinking alcohol was out of the question for us. They also apologized when I paid which was a gesture I appreciated. Hence I gave the 2 stars and not 1 star even though they ruined our last night on the island. Not considering the bad experience with the waiting time even with the discount the food and the restaurant style - plastic chairs and table is definitely average quality and overpriced at this place. After 2 weeks of travel around Sicily this was our sole bad experience. All in all there are so many nice restaurants on this island with better food, better service and better prices so my recommendation is to avoid it unless you have no other...
Read more6 stars if I could.. Absolutely wonderful dining experience.
Our group of 6 came in early, just as the restaurant was opening. We were received warmly and our garbled speech of mixed English and Spanish was understood and worked with.
We ordered pizza but found that it was only served after 8pm. Following staff recommendations we all ordered pastas or bruschetta. The bruschetta was phenomenal, out of this world delicious. Table mate commented that pasta was the best she had ever eaten. The warm service and comfortable dining environment was even more memorable than the incredible food.
Because of the wonderful food and environment we reserved a table to enable us to come back after 8pm and try the pizza. When we returned the restaurant and staff had transformed from a casual morning spot to a true dinner feel complete with white draped tables and snappily dressed staff. Pizza, drinks and service were once again above reproach.
Our only disappointment is that we had to leave before having an opportunity to sing karaoke. Yes, karaoke. This place truly has it all, if given the opportunity we will return. Thanks to the whole family for treating us not like guests, but like cousins who hadn't been...
Read moreFood: I got the “Ravioli Family”, and with that I got a family of fish shells in my ravioli… Overall tasted pretty good. I also got a chicken cutlet that was basically made from McDonalds… No Coke so they offered me a 2L bottle of coke, and no small bottles. I then went with a sprite which they did not bother to open for me. Service: If you’re ready to be amazed come here… They took 20 minutes to take our order, another 30 to arrive and we still didn’t get drinks, NOT EVEN WATER….. Disaster.. Took other people’s orders that arrived later, could possibly be the worst i’ve ever had. Atmosphere: A JUNGLE… Kids running around, waiter making new tables in corners that have runoff of the AC, dropping plates, 4 servers per 20+ tables it’s brutal… PLEASE STARVE RATHER...
