We stayed in the Agriturismo for two nights. Unfortunately we wrote the owner three weeks ago an email (27.09.23) but didn't get a reply yet. I am posting the content of the email here:
The place is really lovely, but we got a bit worried about the animals living there.
On this topic, we have a suggestion for the future, specially thinking about the idea behind the place (sustainability, environment-friendly, veganism). If mentioned to the guests that there are rescued or strays living at the place, you can also suggest that they leave donations to help care for them.
As guardians of three cats we noticed that they (specially the cats) seemed a bit hungry and the newcomer (the small black and white kitten) has some skin issue around the neck that may be passed along to others if left untreated.
We talked to someone from the main house that told us that the cats were feed rice (but she also told us that the owner gave them some other type of food, which made us a bit relieved - although she found it natural to give the cats only rice). Cats are natural carnivores and cannot survive long on rice only. We left some dry and wet food for them, and we hope it helps.
We hope the business keeps on thriving. We need more initiatives like this and that offer calm environments and vegan philosophy in Italy. And we really hope that the animal conditions can improve...
Read moreWe made a reservation here because we were interested in trying the food. When we arrived the restaurant was closed because the cooks were on vacation. Nobody mentioned this to us. Nobody anticipated our arrival either, so we were put in a room and we had to switch rooms the next day because we got the 'wrong' room.||The first night, because the restaurant was closed, we got to eat with the owner and the people who work the land. And this was one of the best experiences of our whole trip. A long table with an international crowd. It was great fun and delicious food, You should try their olive oil. I wish I could have brought some home.||One of the things you should know is that the shower usually was cold. This is fine in the middle of summer. Although I suspect they have hot water in summer because they use a solar boiler. This place has it's quirks, but i'd love to go back here. If...
Read moreAte here with my family for an evening meal. We all ate the full menu each (4 courses). Every single dish was delicious in taste and beautiful in presentation. The flavour of each ingredient was well balanced and strong, you can taste how everything is organic and fresh (grown on the farm). Fresh homemade juice was a nice surprise. Myself and my sister are gluten intollerant; we rang up the day before and the owner prepared a full menu for us that was completely gluten-free. Every item that contained gluten on the original menu was modified for a gluten-free alternative. We felt extremely welcomed and accomodated for at every point by the hosts. Reasonably priced for the exceptional quality we received. Ambience and setting were peaceful and relaxed, perfect for appreciating the food and experience in general. Thank you very much for a...
