Excellent table service and hosts. The manager offered to pay for my parking for one hour, as it was difficult to upload the app. The bottled blueberry juice was delicious, so as the chardonnay by the glass. I would recommend a truly al-dente pasta (it is an expectation we have from Italy), as it felt very moscio / damp, with no character. I also recommend the use of a real home made tomato sauce for the pasta. The sauce felt cheap, like from a large large can for industrial purposes, over-sweet. I had to pour a large amount of olive oil and salt to correct the taste. We ate it as we were hungry and the time slot to eat in italy is very short (12 to 14.30h). The fish with zafferano (secondo piatto) was a little burned and with a non pleasant taste. The spices that were used felt a bit chaotic and not enhancing the natural features of fish. A deeper input from other customers (including local ones who are more pertinent than I am) may be necessary as I am just one subjective customer, a temporary tourist, so I may not represent the average customer of this place. I am not giving any bad rating as the staff...
Read moreWonderful family run restaurant on the sleepy side of Lake Como. All the dishes were lovely.
Now its not saying much as the food around Lake Como tends to pretty awful, but this was our favorite restaurant in our 2 week stay at different areas around the Lake.
Very affordable, super friendly owner who treated us like family. If we were in the area we would definitely come back.
The only negative was the bread, but this seems to be the case at almost any restaurant you go to in this part of Italy. There is simply no good bread. Come on Italy, step up your bread game!
But this is a lovely spot, pasta, fish, risotto, deserts, were all delicious. As...
Read moreNice place with a "local" atmosphere, even though this place is oriented for tourists. Friendly waitresses. It's one of the best place to pit stop on the way back from the alps. You can have a nice lunch and then go for a walk and enjoy the old harbour and view to the lake. About the food - they basically have combinations of courses, you can choose. And then you have few dishes for every course. So I took full course for 15 eur. I got tuna pasta, salad and nice local cheese and a drink. I especially enjoyed the local cheese. I never taste the yellow cheese which is soft like mozzarella, but tastes like gauda. It's like eating creamy gauda. I...
