I wish I could give this pizzeria zero stars, not because it was one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life, but because it was so for my children. The pizzas are fair, probably the best out of a limited village choice, and the owner of our hotel recommended it.
There are other Italian options in Dicomano, like Celle80 Bistrot, take them. If you like Pizza from Il Geko, make it a takeaway. If it is a warm summer evening and you have young children, avoid this place at all costs. This is why.
Being a sunny, very warm Sunday, and with young children, we arrived early, shortly after the 19:00 opening. When we arrived, a large family party already took up the inner air-conditioned space and was just being served their courses. With 35C and still sunny outside, we opted for the only indoor space left instead of the terrace.
The glassed entry “greenhouse” became hot, sauna hot, and our children literally started melting to the floor. The staff was kind enough to turn in the A/C, on the lowest regime, before opening all the doors, letting the warm air in again.
After 15 minutes of waiting, we asked to move outside, to the tables we had initially been offered, only to now being turned down. These were now reserved for other guests.
After 30 minutes, with other tables arriving after us already enjoying starters and about 20 Pizzas being handed out to take-away guests, we also opted to join the Priority Lane and asked for ours to-go as well.
This is when we got confronted with the “Chef” demanding to know what he had done wrong. We explained it was too hot, and we weren’t given any alternatives, or preference, to cooler options. There were solutions (offered to others), but it was a matter of attitude and we now preferred to leave. This caused a massive outburst of hurt feelings, but no resolutions or acknowledgements. In front of all the other guests, and my 4-year-old son, sitting on the floor, scared and crying.
The latter is not only unprofessional in any country but unforgivable in front of...

The food is delicious, my friends and I had only one complaint on the food. Some of the food lacked flavor, especially the seafood. But other than that, this was the best food experience in our week in Italy. The antipasto was great and fresh. The entrecote meals were amazing.
Overall the food is a 5 star experience, but the one thing that made my review a 4 star is the volume of noise in the restaurant. The five of us could barely hear each other at some times. Maybe more soft interior would lower the volume.
I would still recommend...
