Chiosco Monte Longu — Restaurant in Durgali/Dorgali

Fantastic!!

This is just a chiosc and it is easy to miss, but it was truly one of our best experiences in Sardinia. First of all, the location is perfect as you get to eat in front of the stunning view of Cala Gonone.

The food is amazing! We started with local cold cuts and cheese (the best!), and followed with pizza. Our kids got two different toppings in one pizza (half each) because they don’t prefer the same. Not a problem for the staff. And they have lots of special pizzas with local ingredients and specialities. However, the menu is only in Italian and many ingredients are not translatable. We googled the ingredients and looked at the pictures, that worked fine.

The staff is very kind and service minded. And there are almost only locals there.

Note, for lunch they don’t serve pizzas but very good snacks like sandwiches. Pizzas are served from 19.30.

Absolutely ruined our day! We waited 54 minutes just to get our drinks and another hour for the food, and that was only after we complained. When the food finally arrived, it was a disaster. The burger looked like something you'd get from a gas station sandwich shop, and the pizza was extremely basic. This whole experience ruined our day. We paid 100 euros for 4 people, which is outrageous considering the conditions—sitting on benches with no shade, and they don’t even have proper plates. We were driving past the Chiosco, located just after the tunnel on the way down the hill, and said to ourselves we had to stop there on the way back. The place was packed with cars and was one of the only spots open on Easter Sunday. We arrived just after the kitchen had closed, but they still kindly offered a few options. I went with the sandwich filled with beef stew and gorgonzola—honestly, one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I'm not exaggerating, it was incredible.
