Chiosco Oasi Osalla — Restaurant in Durgali/Dorgali

Here is my little story... it was very hot, so my kids (3 & 6) wanted an ice cream (also myself to be honest). So they go very excited and choose the ones they wanted, and being kids... proceed to open them. When I wanted to pay, I showed my card... just to know that for an issue with the system that day, they could only take cash (make sure you always carry some in Sardinia). I didn't have any... so I really didn't know what to do. And the ice creams were partially open (needless to say about the anxiety of my kids to get them). I felt really bad, as I would have to return them, and no ATM near by.

So they discussed and said to me "pay the next time" with a smile in the face.... how many people in the XXI century still can rely so much on strangers? I was impressed. I owed them around 7 eur... luckily my wife found 5 eur to pay part of the ice creams.

It was not about the money, it was about the trust.

The whole point is: the people. I will always go to such places, I believe my face of desperation and my kids triggered that empathy we are all looking for, and that for me is a reason to believe this is a great place to go.

Now. I still owe them 2 eur :( I believe that will be on my next trip to Sardinia... also because that beach. One of the best I have...

This place must have new owners - do not be fooled by the photos. Only serve very very basic sandwiches and the whole place was absolute chaos. Staff were rude and arguing with each other, and it took over an hour and a half to get two drinks and two sandwiches. Una sorpresa davvero gradita, dopo una mattinata sulla splendida insenatura della spiaggia di Osala di Dorgali, ci è venuta fame e, allora si è presa in considerazione l'idea di prendere un panino in questo chiosco. Una volta la iniziano a passarci davanti piatti davvero invitanti, primi, secondi, insomma decidiamo di sederci... Nel menù troviamo primi e secondi della tradizione sarda, prendiamo un'insalata di mare e un filetto di tonno a modo mio. Pesce freschissimo, ma il filetto di tonno mi lascia di stucco, strepitoso davvero! Prezzi economici considerando che si mangia praticamente a 50 metri dalla spiaggia! Gestione familiare, servizio...
