I love watching opera, but being in one is another matter. 4 phone calls (yesterday) and 7 emails to get the booking that they didn't have when I arrived (yes, i arrived at 748, waited happily...they looked at 8pm, not 730, they're not open til 8) for my booking and didn't have it). Ordered with the stone face man that instantly tells you, watch out. Some stale bread (the olive oil turns up 27 minutes later when the basket was empty), and I can tell why I waited so long for the dishes. The grilled veggies took a very long time because they were grilled without olive oil, arriving as thirsty as a labourer at the end of overtime. The pasta and prawns took a long while because overcooking takes time. The pasta was fully cooked as you'd expect in an English pub, not an Italian trattoria. Yes thanks, i know fresh pasta...ive been serving, cooking and enjoying it for 44 years. I know the difference and how soft it should be. The prawns, which h should take 90 seconds poached in sugo, seemed to have not escaped the torturous cooking until rendered powdery. Or is that something they can teach me too? The dessert, mille foglie, should be 1000 layers of crisp puff with a zabaglione centre. Here, there's some limp filo (greek) pastry, with a splodge of coma sweet custard. It's the sort of dessert you make apologetically when there's a misunderstanding about who's bringing dessert for dinner. A pleasant waitress finished the torture with a smile and apologies. The guy at the cashier was so filthily dressed and presented (I'll spare you the details). I thought he might be a homeless person looking for a food donation. No eye contact, no thanks, no questions, no care. It just seems the summer has defalted this zeppelin. They need a good rest. I need to return to my 2 fave restaurants nearby that do a cracking job at singing an uplifting aria. As for the advice to help me be a better customer...thanks...have a look at all my reviews...I used to own big and small restaurants, so successful that I retired at 45yo and travel the world eating great food..but...
Read moreDel tutto deludente.
