My local friends brought me here on a Wednesday night, and it was such a wonderful surprise. Perched on a little mountain above Florence, the restaurant has a beautifully lit courtyard that sets the tone as you walk in. At night it felt magical, but I imagine the daytime views would be even more spectacular.

We sat inside, where the service was warm, friendly, and perfectly attentive. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish—we never had to wait. The staff even brought out the Bistecca alla Fiorentina before cooking it, which made the experience feel extra special.

We shared la degustazione per 2 persone, the house-style mushroom risotto (risotto alla maniera del ‘Milione’), the famous Florentine steak, roast potatoes, and sautéed spinach. Every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully prepared.

It was a truly memorable evening, and I’d love to return one day to explore even more of their menu. A gem just outside Florence that’s well...

A smile is for free! Unfortunately not for the lady waitress (apperently close to the owner). She does a very good job to spoil the nice view. A table for two at the side of the terras overlooking the hills was not available for us = she does not want tourist taking place there. Lot's of wines are not available anymore. No communication among the waiters so the main course was served before we ordered the wine. We had to ask for the cutlery to eat our steak! The bill took for "hours", and guess what.......pay at the sunshine waitress. The owner is sitting at a table like he is the "Don" himself= no class at all. Think twice to go here!

The food, venue and atmosphere is exceptional. One of the best restaurants I’ve experienced in Italy. And it’s well priced considering the quality of what you get. I had some steak from the bbq, and it was perfection. The side dishes have simple presentation with wonderful flavours.

I knock one star off on service wasn’t as attentive as it could be - I had to call the staff over quite a few times to move the evening on, but staff were all polite and accommodated my attempts at Italian.

As other reviews mention, tourists do appear to be seated under the tree away from the views, but it didn’t bother me. Italians were seated there too when I was there, and there are views everywhere around - you can walk for 10 seconds to see a view. If I was a regular guest, whatever my nationality, I expect I would get bumped up to a better...

One of those places where you feel fortunate to have skipped your lunch. The beautiful ambiance where the Osteria is situated provides breathtaking views, while at the same time feels like a welcome home. The staff are very friendly and the younger staff speak English quite well (as my Italian is not very impressive). As antipasti I had the Pappa Al Pomodoro, a Tuscan version of tomato soup mixed with old bread. I thought that was surprisingly delicious. Then I went for a Bistecca alla Fiorentina: it had been over 10 years since I had my first. It proved my initial experience to be quite correct. Very tasty, well cooked and tender. Not being Italian I always hesitate to say something about the Panna Cotta, but this one had one of the finest textures I have ever tasted. Highly recommended!
