On our recent Italian tour of Godfather filming locations, we stumbled upon a charming spot for pizza lovers - Antichi Muri in Forza d'Agro. Nestled atop a mountain, this restaurant sits in a quiet plaza with breathtaking views, adding to the charm of this quaint town.
The welcoming owner showered us with genuine hospitality, making us feel instantly at home. It was clear that our patronage was highly valued, a reminder of the importance of supporting these wonderful local businesses.
As for the pizza, it was outstanding! Handcrafted with fresh, local ingredients, every bite was a delicious testament to authentic Italian cuisine. We savored many pizzas during our 10-day trip, but the one at Antichi Muri stood out as the absolute best.
The relaxing atmosphere combined with the delectable food made for an unforgettable experience. If you're in Forza d'Agro, a stop at Antichi Muri is a must, especially if you're following in the footsteps of the Godfather. Delicious food, warm hospitality, and a touch of movie magic - a perfect...
Read morePizzeria Antichi Muri is an absolute "must try" for those who like pizza and also for those who don't (for example I prefer just homemade pizza). The reason is that the owner of Antichi Muri is definitely a master to make the dough (pasta) for pizza. As the experts know, italian pizza most important ingredient is the dough, the priority is the know-how to make it and this is the specialty of Antichi Muri "pizzaiolo" (dough&pizza maker). Beside the main skill, the other ingredients choice is based just on 1st quality traditional sicilian products selected and guaranteed by the author and the mix of tastes moves from the old style to modern combinations but the various recipes are always faithful to local traditions. I personally suggest the rare and very special pizzaiolo personal creation (so you won't find elsewhere) "Pizza Cannolo"... rare as one of the main ingredients, the cottage cheese, is a seasonal cheese that is only found in certain periods...

Prices are very fair. Each pizza was 10 euros and was around 12-14 inches in diameter. Good enough for 2 ppl if you have salad and appetizers.
Ordered the caprese salad. Very light and tasteful. Buffalo cheese was perfect texture and tomatoes were sun drenched ripe.
Ordered mix green salad as well which was not bite worthy but then again who comes to a pizzeria and orders a green salad. (My wife) lol
We also asked for lemon and salt for our sparking water which was served in abundance with any charge.
Overall, we loved the quiet square town seating area with the fountain dripping slowly in the background and nice breeze under the umbrella.
This town is a must as a...
