We recently dined at Osteria Agostiniana in Forza d’Agrò and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The beautiful terrace overlooking the Sicilian coast has a panoramic of the city and hill-side.
We savored the “risotto ai frutti di mare”—creamy, beautifully seasoned, and packed with a generous variety of fresh seafood: mussels, clams, prawns, and calamari. Each bite was a celebration of the sea, perfectly balanced and richly flavored.
Equally impressive was the gnocchi di pesce con gamberi, featuring pillowy gnocchi tossed in a delicate tomato‑seafood sauce studded with succulent shrimp. The texture was spot‑on—light and tender gnocchi, each piece coated in a fragrant sauce enriched by the sweetness of the prawn. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable.
We also appreciated their handling of our gluten‑free request for one person. Staff were attentive and very kind throughout our meal.
The dolci selection was equally memorable, including the ricotta-filled biscotto and cannoli alla ricotta, each bite delicate and authentic.
We were on a tight schedule and I forgot to take photos, but everything looked so good and beautifully presented.
Overall, Osteria Agostiniana delivers on every level: beautiful setting, attentive service, outstanding seafood dishes, and a delightful dessert selection.

Read moreThis place is hard to describe. A couple of friends and I found this place spontaneously. We walked past it and it was filled with people. We decided to try it.
The waitress comes to us and asks us "do you know how this works?". We did not want to seem as ordinary tourist and responded "si, si, sicuro!". Then she left us without a word. Another man came with a bottle of wine, which tasted like heaven. But we never ordered it. What was happening?!
Then it started. First, four antipasti. Shrimps, calamari, some fish I didn't know about, gamveroni.. We are every bit of them. Then came four new antipasti. We still ate it all. Then came the "primi". Also these were four: tortiglioni, linguini, Risotto and something I don't remember. Then came the second course. After that the desert and finally the digesting Grappa.
Everything except the desert was seafood. The fish itself might not have been the best I've had - I'd call it a weak 7 out of 10 - however the experience was fantastic. Then came the bill. 150€ for five people at this "all fish you can eat"-restaurant. This definitely made my money worth it.
A plus is the beautiful venue. The city is...
Read moreVery disappointing. We visited 11th April 2022. A group of six adults we were shown to our table. We decided to order from the menu instead of the set menu. Whilst browsing the menu we ordered water and wine. We all agreed that we should order 3 starters to share plus 6 first courses and 6 main courses. This was to be our main meal of the day. A female member of staff came to take our order but said we couldn't order 3 starters to share. I pointed out that we would be ordering another 12 dishes, plus several bottles of wine etc but she said we couldn't order the 3 starters. The manager came to our table and repeated the same story, so we paid for wine that we had already consumed then walked out. Can you believe the short-sightedness of this management. They lost a few hundred euros because they wouldn't allow us to...
