Osteria del Castagno is a special restaurant that boasts a diverse and well-curated menu, a tantalising selection of wine and a host of warm, friendly and humorous staff who elevated the ambiance of the evening. The experience is punctuated by a gorgeous classical Tuscan setting, and a garden decorated with humility and filled with charm and warmth.
The menu isn't the cheapest in the area but you are paying for beautiful, local and organic produce brought together with the traditional love and passion of the Italian kitchen. It certainly justifies the asking price.
^ not a wine connoisseur but the menu looked super and the âŹ30 bottle of red that we ordered was delicious!
My family and I were all blown away and very much look forward to visiting again before returning from our holiday!
(no, I don't work for the restaurant - it's really just that good)

After the great food and drink we pay and left to finish our trip... And nex day I discovered that they charged us for a whole bottle of wine. In an expensive place like that I cannot understand how that happened when so many people told us so many times that they were not going to charge for the whole bottle (and the rest of the bottle...
Read more   Read moreNo menu was brought to us, so we were not aware of the prices, but we naively thought the prices would be average for the area and for an Osteria that is located down the road. The food is amazing, the portion for a pasta allâamatriciana could have been bigger. When I ordered a big salad, I specified to include only pasteurized products since I am pregnant and the waiter reacted by saying that "when his wife was pregnant, he let her eat everything." Odd comment since these are personal choices. Long story short, the big salad arrives with a burrata (obviously unpasteurized product) which of course I could not eat, but at least my husband enjoyed it! The bill for a insalatona, pasta all'amatriciana, a bottle of sparkling water,a beer and two espressos 55âŹ. Prices too high and the waiter should have respected personal choices and...
