Osteria Sicilia — Restaurant in Giarre

Unfortunately this place did not live up to the previous reviews for us. The primary reason I give it three stars is that the service was great. The food was not so great. The bread was not fresh and was rather stale. Many things (pasta, seafood, vegetables in various dishes) were fine, but not super fresh either. We had been eating at restaurants in and around Santa Venerina (the town right next door) and the food was much much higher quality all around. The desserts here also seemed like they were frozen mass-produced ones, rather than being made. This was also one of the most expensive restaurants that we ate at our entire trip. The prices were easily 50% more than at other places with much more high quality food. The atmosphere here was a little tough. The outdoor eating area is literally right next to a very busy street. They have done the best they can with the space they have outside, but it makes siting and enjoying a meal a little hard with all the road noise on the other side...

We came here after recommendation my sister in law. She was here in July with own small family. She told us to order the grilled squid and the ravioli wit pistache

She told the owner cannot speak English but is very friendly.

I saw a picture of some fresh seafood and asked to make for two and as main course the grilled squid and ravioli with pistache.

We got a lot of food, please look at the pictures beneath.

We had had a belly full of good food.

Incl a bottle of water and a coffee, the total lunch was € 71,00 It was not cheap but also not too expensive.

A hidden gem in Giarre, Sicily. It's a MUST to eat here! Atmosphere, service and food 5 stars. We had lentil soup, bruschette sicilian style and carbonara pasta in the first day. I really recommend any of it. The second day we had tagliatelle with eggplant, linguini with frutti di mare and Angus STEAK. All of them excellent but the steak..OMG!! You really have to try it, it worth it. About the desserys, just go on recommendations, all of them are amazing. Anna, the waitress is amazing, very helpul and friendly and speaks good English, follow her recommendations and you will not...
