I booked a room at Locanda La Clusaz through Booking.com. Just an hour before my arrival, I received a call informing me that my reserved room was no longer available. Instead, the staff directed me to a Bed & Breakfast. Upon arrival at the B&B, we contacted Locanda La Clusaz, and they confirmed that they would not accommodate us in the 3-star hotel as initially booked. Instead, we were offered a semi-basement room at the B&B. They invited us to have dinner at the hotel, and since we were hungry, we accepted. The dinner was enjoyable, and we expected some form of compensation for the inconvenience and the downgrade in our accommodation. However, Locanda La Clusaz did not offer any discount or compensation. Since our original booking did not include breakfast, we assumed the B&B would at least offer it as compensation for the downgrade. Unfortunately, we were informed that breakfast would not be included and that we would need to pay €15 per person, unlike the other B&B guests who received breakfast for free. We ended up having breakfast elsewhere in Aosta. In the end, we paid for a 3-star hotel experience but received a semi-basement room in a B&B, without breakfast included. A lot of tourists are just driving past this place as they don't know what's in there, which is a big mistake. ||||La Clusaz is basically a restaurant with some rooms attached. I always stay in the basic ones which are fine for me, as I am there for eating, hiking and taking photos, not relaxing in a hotel room. The rooms are very basic but contain everything someone would need. ||||The owner serves the wine at lunch and dinner and together with his wife are two great persons to listen to. ||||I will continue my habit to go there every year, it is a great place and a good stop to buy some excellent regional wines. ||||Prices for food and rooms are...
