Il Fòllaro — Restaurant in Giuggianello

We were in the area for 5 days and ate there for 3 out of the 5 nights. The restaurant is located atop of a hill with gentle breeze and gorgeous views. What I liked about the food was that it was high quality as well as creative - in a way where it felt like a gourmet experience. I don't normally eat a ton of seafood, but I did here because I could tell it was fresh and well prepared. For dessert, the lemon sorbet with capers and chocolate shavings is divine! Also, one of our waiters was super sweet and extremely friendly which kept us coming back as well. And lastly, I loved that they utilize Reserve With Google so that I could easily reserve our table from my phone without having to call....

Che delusione ragazzi, siamo venuti un sabato sera d'agosto dopo aver visto promuovere la serata con dj, siamo arrivati per le 21.00 come da programma e il posto era quasi vuoto con zero musica. Lasciamo stare il fatto che se vuoi stuzzicare (quindi no ristorante) non esiste il servizio al tavolo ma devi andare alla cassa a ordinare e prevedere dove ti siederai per dire dove devono portarti il cibo, quando la metà dei tavoli sono al buio e l'altra metà è occupata da gente che non ha ancora ordinato o bambini che giocano. Lasciamo stare anche la lunga attesa per delle semplici patatine fritte o i bicchieri di carta che durante l'attesa del cibo hanno iniziato a perdere il contenuto da sotto. La delusione più grande l'abbiamo provata quando ha iniziato a piovere e, chiedendo al cameriere dove potevamo ripararci, ci siamo sentiti dire "non saprei, anche sotto un albero" (almeno ce ne fossero stati). Sostanzialmente un "arrangiatevi" e così abbiamo dovuto fare: abbiamo impilato tutti i piatti (bicchieri sgocciolanti compresi) e siamo corsi nella nostra macchina a finire di mangiare. Sappiamo che il meteo non si può comandare a piacimento, ma in una location del genere non mostrare nemmeno un minimo di empatia o avere dei ripari da offrire in caso di pioggia è grave, manco fosse una sagra del paese. Wow. This place was a dream! The service? The best in Italy we experienced. The food? The best in Italy we experienced. The Ambience? Holy moly! The vibe was perfect, the restaurant was decorated to perfection AND there's literally a cave/shrine being restored on the property that you can explore once you're done eating. I can't wait to come back here and experience the magic again. YOU HAVE TO COME HERE! You are missing out...
