Itaca — Restaurant in Gizzeria

This charming restaurant, run by Marisa and her family, is truly exceptional. We arrived at 8 PM and chose to sit outdoors in a wonderful setting. We started with a liter of house-made white wine, while my husband, Steven, enjoyed a red wine. For our first course, we opted for the pasta with vongole—small, locally caught clams served with the most delicious al dente pasta imaginable. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, we were served fried calamari, baby calamari, and local fish—each bite more delicious than the last. Accompanying our meal were a fantastic tomato salad and a mixed green salad. Missing this place would mean missing out on the essence of this beautiful town and its incredibly kind people. We’ll definitely be returning soon. 🥰

My daughter and I were on vacation in Gizzeria Lido. We literally stumbled upon this place after having had a very bad dining experience in the same area. Marisa was an attentive and excellent hostess. Staff was very professional and prompt. We had the best seafood meal we had ever tasted. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Atmosphere was quaint and friendly and prices very reasonable. Truly an enjoyable experience. Can't wait to go back next year. Marisa, grazie per la tua ospitalita. Dopo aver prenotato con una settimana di anticipo, per portare la mamma a pranzo per la festa della mamma, arriviamo da Catanzaro alle 13:30 puntuali come orologi svizzeri e. .....sorpresa....ristorante chiuso! Cosa posso dire? Ci siamo rimasti malissimo(soprattutto mia mamma che desiderava da tempo di pranzare fuori a base di pesce) e senza neanche essere avvisati! Ovviamente irreperibili sul numero di cellulare pubblicato in internet!!!Bocciatissimo!!!! Per fortuna abbiamo trovato accoglienza all'ottimo ristorante "Le tre fontane" di Gizzeria superiore, che è stata una piacevole scoperta. In risposta ai proprietari: quando ho prenotato, non mi avete detto di dare di nuovo conferma in settimana ma solo se, nel caso non fossimo venuti, di avvisare tempestivamente. Inoltre vi avevo chiesto, se dovevo lasciare il mio numero di cellulare e mi AVETE DETTO di NO. Pertanto, il giorno della festa della mamma, siamo venuti, PUNTUALMENTE ALLE 13:30, COME DA PRENOTAZIONE, a portare la nostra mamma a festeggiare, regalandole invece una GROSSA delusione. Mi dispiace, ma siete stati poco attenti alla prenotazione. Infatti, le recensioni di un locale, non riguardano solo il cibo, ma soprattutto l'attenzione che si ha verso i clienti, anche nella gestione delle prenotazioni.
